I'm not sure the OSU-UM score will be so high as 28-16. I actually might be surprised if anyone scores more than 20 (unless it goes into dreaded OT).

Instant Access

READ: Hebrews 10:19-23

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith. —Hebrews 10:22

Pastor Rich McCarrell explained to his young son how his secretary screened his phone calls at the church office. He said, “If your mom calls me and I’m busy, the church secretary will tell her what I’m doing, and then Mom will decide if I should be interrupted or if she should leave a message.”

Then he said to his son, “If you call me, you’ll be put right through. I want you to know that you can call me anytime, because you’re my son.”

A few days later, the church secretary put a call through to the pastor from his son. He said hello and asked what he could do for his son. He replied, “Nothing, Dad. I just wanted to make sure I could actually get through to you that easily.”

We too always have instant access to our Father in heaven. There’s no secretary to screen His calls. No need for a decision on whether or not we should bother Him. No need to leave a message so that He can get back to us later. The psalmist reminds us, “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry” (Ps. 34:15).

Because Jesus has provided the way by His death and resurrection, you can have boldness and confidence as you draw near to your Father (Heb. 4:16). Anne Cetas

Dear Father, thank You that we can talk with You
at any time for any reason. We are grateful for that
privilege, which was made possible by Your Son Jesus
through His death and resurrection.

Through prayer, we have instant access to our Father.

Bible in One Year:   Lamentations 3-5; Hebrews 10:19-39

When Abu Musa Al Zarqawi died,
George Washington met him at the Pearly Gates.
He slapped him across the face and yelled,
"How dare you try to destroy the nation I helped conceive?"

Patrick Henry approached, punched him in the nose
and shouted, "You wanted to end our liberties
but you failed."

James Madison followed, kicked him in the groin
and said, "This is why I allowed our government to
provide for the common defense!"

Thomas Jefferson was next, beat Zarqawi
with a long cane
and snarled, "It was evil men like you
who inspired me to write the Declaration of Independence."

The beatings and thrashings continued as George Mason,
James Monroe and 66 other early Americans
unleashed their anger on the terrorist leader.
As Zarqawi lay in pain, an Angel appeared.
Abu Musa wept and said, "This is not what you promised me."

The Angel replied, "I told you there would be
72 Virginians waiting for you in Heaven.
What did you think I said? :D

Today's FEEBLE

YOKE:

Once upon a time Dracula decided to carry some sort of a competition to see which is the finest bat to stand on his side. So all the bats were honored to take part. The rules were simple. Whichever bat drinks more blood, will be the winner?
So the first bat goes and comes back after 10 minutes. Her mouth was full of blood.
Dracula says: "Congratulations, how did you do that?"
The bat said: "Do you see that tower? Behind it there is a house. I went in and sucked the blood of all the family".
"Very good" said Dracula.
The second bat goes and comes back after 5 minutes all her face covered in blood.
Dracula astonished says, "How did you do that?"
The bat replies " Do you see that tower? Behind it there is a school. I went in and drunk the blood of all the children".
"Impressive" said Dracula.
Now the third bat goes and comes back after three minutes literally covered in blood from top to toe.
Dracula is stunned. "How on earth did you do that????" he asked.
And the bat replies. "Do you see this tower?"
Dracula replies with a yes.
And the bat says "Well, I didn't".

TO THE

Good morning, Everyone. Good morning

Thanks, Mojo, for preparing the Canteen for today’s activities.

I have two football observations. One - I see the Skins have moved Brunell out and Campbell in as quarterback. At least for the next game. I've seen this happen over the years and wonder why they blame the quarterback all the time, even if the receivers are not doing such a hot job. IMO, that's totally unfair unless the coaches are willing to change receivers around as frequently.

Then, there's the Michigan game. Mr. Beachy and I almost got into a screaming match over missing this game cause he thought we were leaving on Saturday to begin our drive to Michigan for Thanksgiving. He couldn't believe he might miss that game. After a week of fussing over it, he finally realized that we are leaving Sunday afternoon! Which we had discussed a few times. MEN!!

DC Metroland weather report ~ Today...Mostly cloudy. Areas of fog early this morning. A slight chance of rain late. Highs in the mid 60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent. ~ Tonight...Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of rain in the evening... Then a chance of rain after midnight. Lows in the mid 50s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

Guess, what I discovered? No, not another continent. No, not another galaxy. Maybe one day, but not today. LOL.....I actually discovered that the problem with font color must be with the HTML font color page, not Firefox. When I typed in "green" in my format, I got green font. But, when I try to do "228B22" (or any other color code) I get black font.

Breaking News ~ IT'S HUMP DAY! We made it!

I guess that calls for a little Trivia. I know you all get so excited when I mention Trivia, but you must just learn patience. I can't swamp everyone's thread with Trivia, now can I?

The first performer to win Grammy Awards for jazz and classical recordings in the same year was Wynton Marsalis in 1984. His albums were Trumpet Concertos and Think of One.

Until there was a pay raise in 1814, US Congressmen were paid $6 per diem when Congress was in session. (Oh, Beachy sez let's put this back in force ~ now)

Time for me to make my rounds. But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!

And, for the rest of you………..

Now remember, the Canteen is

So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM

Good morning Canteeners, Cubies, Newbies & Troops! Looks like another great day shaping up in the canteen and in the DC area. Thankfully tomorrow is my Friday, so I'm happy; hoping the Steelers have indeed turned things around for the season. Have a great day, all!
