The announcement by McCain, who has put together campaign organizations in many of the states with early nominating contests, was widely expected. The intentions of Giuliani, who has been less active in early organizing, had been less clear.
Giuliani's campaign team said the committee was simply an opening move designed to keep his options open, with a final decision still to come.
"This filing affords him the opportunity to raise money and put together an organization to assist him in making his decision," Giuliani adviser Anthony Carbonetti said.

Isn't that the political process though? People vote, make policy, etc., based on their personal beliefs. I don't see why religious righties like me are singled out for this.
As for Giuliani, if it were between him and Hillary I'd hold my nose and vote for him. I'm not sure McCain would be any better or worse.
This guy, DCBandita whatever just wasted all of your time just "messing" with you....a Democrat is a Democrat is a Democrat. If someone votes for a Democrat, I have no use for them.....
You will find plenty of (small-L) libertarians who will look askance at Giuliani because of his heavy-handed abuse of his power as a prosecutor in New York, by inventing economic crimes, using very public arrests and perp walks to violate the rights of and damage the people that he accused in order to score political points, which should be anathema to any freedom-loving person, and the like. You will find plenty of social conservatives who will take issue with his lack of social conservatism. Both groups may find the prospect of a Clinton or McCain presidency to be so untenable that Giuliani looks like an acceptable alternative...
OOhhh.....look at the mushy moderate defending the liberal democrat troll. You must be one of those "compassionate" conservatives I've heard about. Barf.
The "Religious Right" are not the demons they are being made out to be. They believe in God, The Son, and life everlasting. They are kind to everyone and believe in loving one another and helping people. But unlike radical Islam, they don't force their beliefs on anyone. Its everyones choice. They are really quite harmless. Nothing to fear at all.
You know that is such a wimpy view. It comes down to this - do issues such as abortion get to be decided politically or by decree? It has never been more than that fundamentally - are we going to adhere to the contract that was agreed on or are some going to cheat because they don't like the rules? Abortion is legal because rules that some did not like were changed by decree.
There are a whole lot of other rules they would like to change the same way - som YOU may not like changed. When it happens DON'T WHINE TO US ABOUT IT. You are nothing more than an enabler of these types!
Fine but no need to flame. She's actually conducting herself with more manners than some long time posters here.
There are others. For example, I believe in a message of economic populism. I believe wholeheartedly that the gap between high income and middle-income is getting wider. I believe that the investment class should NOT get a tax cut. I believe that the Republican party in the White House is by FAR too in bed with Corporations to the detriment of the average American. I believe in bettering the student loan system and fully funding NCLB if that's the direction in which we're headed. I believe that you can't fund a war on a tax cut. I believe the Republican party in the White Hosue has stretched the concept of executive power PAST the point of breaking and requires oversight for all of our sakes (because the executive is the executive, regardless of party and precedents set by this one will extend to the next one). I'm pretty hard-over in these beliefs.
"reasonably pro-gun?" What the hell does that mean? Do you consider a Mossberg reasonable?
If someone votes for a Democrat, I have no use for them.....
As an idiot you are in the wrong place. Your opinion is foolish.
I didn't flame him/her (don't know)...it is a waste of time to deal with people like this. If they vote Democrat, they don't need to be posting here.....
He didn't waste my time. I was on the phone on hold, getting ready to seal a very profitable deal. I can continue as a good Capitalist AND write to trolls.
Better give that bong a rest.
It's a shallow troll. No responses, it's incapable of reflecting on anything but it's self and it's feelings.
Of course an FR shrink may find it interesting, but I don't an FR shrink would want to work for free.
Ain't no Democrats around the table, that's for sure...if you consort with evil, it will eventually rub off on you...
I guess it's okay if you know you're wasting your time. It just seems pointless, that's all....
Oops well you lost me there. As a self-employed person working a small business I'm relying on my investments for retirement. We've worked up from the bottom. I guess I am considered "investment class"?
This is what I DON'T like about the Democrats. They will never let people get ahead.
Do you think that minors should be able to get abortions without the consent of their parents? Do you think abortion advocate should be able to protect people who commit statutory rape? Do you think the only medical information a girl or woman should get about an abortion should come from abortion advocates who think there are no long term medical and emotional consequences to having an abortion? I've read artlicles posted on Free Republic about the high levels of infertility in Russia caused by the high abortion rates there. Do you think NARAL, NOW, and other abortion activist groups give a damned about that?
Most conservatives believe abortion is not a personal belief but the crime of murder. You couldn't have a country where crime would be considered a personal choice.
Thanks for the feedback, but since your answer would be not to have a war in Iraq, how on earth would you and your guy Webb have handled Saddam?
