A Question from a Webb Supporter
The Washington Post ^ | November 14, 2006 | John Whitesides

The announcement by McCain, who has put together campaign organizations in many of the states with early nominating contests, was widely expected. The intentions of Giuliani, who has been less active in early organizing, had been less clear.

Giuliani's campaign team said the committee was simply an opening move designed to keep his options open, with a final decision still to come.

"This filing affords him the opportunity to raise money and put together an organization to assist him in making his decision," Giuliani adviser Anthony Carbonetti said.

Personally I don't have a problem with any individual's personal bleiefs - but that's the problem. Your personal beliefs may not be mine etc. and so forth and when it comes to issue like Choice,

If I had to pick a single issue why the concept of "government" over free people should even be tolerated, the prevention of the killing of innocent individuals would be it.

If government can't even make the effort to do that, what's the point?

"There is nothing moderate about being a member of the democrat party, why is a democrat troll even starting his own threads on FR?"

At least this guy is honest and admits to being a scumbag leftist troll, unlike the dishonest Giuliani supporters here that claim to be Conservatives.

I would like to leave it out of the mix. Because the fact is, you and I will never agree if you're pro-life and believe that abortion should be illegal. We just won't. I don't think you're a nutjob - I think you have deeply held personal beliefs and I respect that. I, as well, believe deeply in my own reproductive rights and while an abortion is not a choice I would make for myself, I can't turn to a woman next to me in a restaurant and make that determination for her. I don't know her values, her morals - so I keep to my own principles where it involves me personally and trust that others keep to theirs.

Moreoever, I think that there is SO MUCH more on which Dems and Repubs can agree (I believe strongly that most of both parties are near the center) that if we reject the never-going-to-be-settled divisive issues, we could get on with meaningful things that have an impact on people's lives.

Just my opinion.

This election's results were a disgrace. Iran and Syria are laughing their arses off.

That does not matter to DCBandita. He/she is chanting the old 70's song "Why can't we be friends".

Unlike the vietcong the islamofascists DCBandita wants to be friends with, wants to anniahalate us all.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one. He was in the military so I can't see him being anti-gun. If he goes against 2nd Amendment positions then he's done.

No problem expressing it, Prov. It's when it seems to be the only guiding factor in policy and governmental direction that I have a problem. While I am Christian, not everyone is and I don't think leading from the Bible is in line with what the Constitution says.

BTW, DCBandita, do you feel any remorse for the appx 2 million innocent Cambodians who were slaughtered by the khmer rouge after the US left SE Asia in 1975.

I think you should for it was your party and ideaology that was a major cog in that massacre.

A social liberal Republican will NOT defeat a social liberal Democrat for president.

Run two social liberals against each other for president, and social conservatives--a huge and significant voter group--will not be motivated in sufficient numbers to vote for the Republican. What's the point? There is no choice in such a scenario.

I can understand how that would please you, but truth is, social liberalism is dead end. It lies down the same twisted and dark path to demographic hell that effete and decaying gay old Europe has chosen.

I got an idea: why don't you bugger off and go join the Europeans in their grave digging party?

You said--I think it's mistake to cast a net over all Democrats as "liberal". For example, I am from Virginia - we are a different breed of Democrat (we have to be).

I too am from Virginia. I live in Richmond and was raised in Northern Virginia. Take a little look at Pelosi's agenda. Try to get your news from somewhere other than "Oprah" would you? Democrat=liberal AND America hater. Once you've turned off your Katie Couric "news source" and see the agenda, let me know if THAT sounds anything other than complete socialism! And as far as Jim Webb, whom I assume you voted for, take a look at his agenda. If anything on there sounds remotely conservative, you can guarantee it will NOT come to fruition! Pelosi has Webb in her boney ass pocket. He'll do what she says! That's neither "moderate" or "independent". It's HATE AMERICA/CAPITALISM.

I don't think he / she understands the consequences of this vote. It's very nice to think that it's all self-contained and local. When your nation is a superpower, the impact of an election ripples out to every corner of the planet.

It wasn't just about whether you liked Webb over Allen. It was about the message you're sending as Americans to the wider world. The message you sent is "We give"

Regards, Ivan

Webb will vote the liberal democrat leadership line, you can bank on that.

I personally believe that moral problems are at the heart of all our other problems. Therefore, I cannot vote for a social liberal for President in the primary even though a social liberal Republican would find it easier to win the general election.

To me, other issues, even national defense in the face of Islamic terror, are secondary - and as a former federal weenie I'm much more aware than most of the extreme danger Islam represents.

If you haven't studied abortion or been around the gay community much then my views, I'm sure, are puzzling. I would have been puzzled at myself not that many years ago.

DC,
Are you bothered at all by the fact that Iran and the Queda leader in Iraq cheered the U.S. election of democrats last week? Does that give you any pause?? What does that tell you about your party?

Atheism, not Chrisitanity, is the official state religion of this nation.

If you think the country's screwed up, go complain to the ACLU--don't blame Christian conservatives.

Scumbag leftist troll? I see someone here who is opening a discussion and answering people's responses to him/her. They may be left on issues but why the needless name calling?
