CBS EVENING NEWS DOWN OVER YEAR AGO... For the first time since Katie Couric became anchor, CBS EVENING NEWS is down compared to a year ago, falling 4% from 8.069 to 7.758 million last week among total viewers, and the program also declined 9% among adults 25-54 from last year's 2.2 to a 2.0 rating last week... Although Katie deserves the hook, from what I've read the news department of daily broadcasting is now just a minor blip in the profitability of the company. Therefore, SeeBS can run Katie at a financial loss for them forever without any serious damage to their bottom line.
This means you can expect to see the Perky one for a long time, even if her ratings drop to near zero. They would prefer to do this than admit that they hired a loser.

NOT that I really care, but maybe WE DON'T LIKE KATIE!!!!!

I would like to see if their demographics have changed.

One of the tabloids says she has been fired.

Curious ... how much were the other networks down for the same rating period a year ago? Or, were they?

Maybe they could get Paris Hilton interested in the job.
Or Jenna Jameson.

The only thing that can possibly salvage Katie's ratings now would be...

"Katie Couric was a step up from Bozo the clown, but that's it." Oh darn, and I thought Bozo was a serious journalist.
I'll just have to start watching to Capt. Kangaroo again.
(I hear Sponge Bob will try out for Katie's job.)

Here, a minor addition if you don't mind.
But they're way up in the highly-coveted female, >50, liberal, single, urban, Feminazi, segment!
How's that?

And her perkiness is dancing, and will be dancing, all the way to the bank, while the CBS News employess, er,
former employees, are hitting the pavement, looking for jobs that even illegals won't do.
The numbers I heard were Schieffer $2M, Couric $15M.
What's Les Moonves getting for wasting shareholder money?
What are the mental health insurance rates going to be for CBS News Ad sales people?

Listen, if Bozo said the sun comes up in the east and the sky is blue I'd believe him. If Katie or any c.bs. news person said water is wet, I'd check the facts.
Good point, Bozo never slanted the news!

I always thought they just should have hired Laurie Dew. After all, they're just news readers - not journalist. They'd atleast get back the 25-35 male demographic.
I had forgotten about her. Just realized she is no longer on Fox.
