Giuliani has been carefully preparing for this moment. He spent the past election season accumulating a reservoir of good will among Republicans, campaigning hard for Republican candidates from Oregon to New Hampshire. He was particularly adept at raising money for those candidates and has established himself as one of few presidential hopefuls capable of raising the $100 million or so that is seen as necessary to win the White House. At the moment, he is getting help from Anne Dickerson, who ran President Bush’s highly successful Pioneer and Ranger fundraising machine in 2004.
Giuliani has allied closely with Bush & Co. He made a high profile speech at the 2004 Republican National Convention and has gone on the road to stump with President Bush. There has also been speculation, started by the Washington Post's Kathleen Parker, that Ken Mehlman, the outgoing Republican National Committee chairman and former Bush-Cheney 2004 campaign manager, will be joining the Giuliani camp.

It is an attempt to distort reality to pretend that these men were Illegal aliens as the term is commonly used. Terorrism does not use illegal aliens for good reasons. Had Atta's handlers realized he had overstayed the visa they would have been more concerned that he get it straightened out than the authorities since it could have endangered the plot.
Such an incident would not happen today and he would likely be jailed upon discovery and deported.

What I understand is that there are some here who are the Right wing equivalent of the DUmmies of the Left who believe they can shove their extremist views on a nation which is not extreme.
They are a danger to the GOP and were roundly rejected by the electorate last week.
No "moral" or "religious" conviction is going to dictate refusing to vote for the person most capable and likely to defend this nation. There is NO religous person able to convincingly rationalize allowing HIllary Clinton to take the White House.
You actually believe that Christian conservatives will trash their beliefs and vote for an abortionist, just because the opponent is Hillary Clinton? I say that if you want to win an election in 2008, and we all do, don't run someone who forces that sort of decision.
I don't believe you have a clue as to what Christians, conservatives or Christian conservatives think about this. Most simply are not fanatics which is where you go wrong.
I believe they are unpredictable and cannot be relied upon IF they actually would allow Hillary into the White House.
Hence, I won't worry about them.

If Laci had requested an abortion - from anyone - and that person had committed an abortion, the individual performing the murder of Conner wouldn't have been prosecuted for murder.
Folks aren't prosecuted for murder for killing unborn children when the mother consents to the killing. That's why abortionists don't go to prison anymore.

That's a bald assertion on your part. A zygote is an actual being, and a functioning member of the species homo sapiens. He or she has a bit of a ways to go before he or she might, say, post on Free Republic, but the being is living, developing, self-organizing, self-directing, and clearly human.
Against those facts, you blindly assert your unsupported view of things. All you do is close your eyes and say, "I can't see that it's a human! I can't see that it's a human!"

I see lots of assertions but no logical argument, no facts in evidence, no effort at persuasion. Just a diktat from your personal belief system about these mythical unicorn-like creatures called "potential humans."
In any event, I believe that the Republican Party, as a matter of official policy, has adopted the scientifically-supported position that unborn human beings are, well, human beings, and deserve the recognition and protection of their fundamental human rights.
If you wish to belong to a party that has adopted, as a matter of official policy, your unsupported assertions, then I believe the appropriate next step is to change one's party affiliation to Democrat.
Perhaps you might call Mr. Giuliani and take him with you?

To make a statement like that, you're either intentionally being dishonest, or are seriously out of touch with reality. The Bush administration makes local cops go to school before they are allowed to arrest an illegal alien for being an illegal alien. New York, Chicago, LA, and Houston are all sanctuary cities. City employees including cops aren’t allowed to even ask about an alien’s status. Today illegal aliens walk away from local cops every day just like Atta did in 2001. In sanctuary cities like New York city employees are bared from turning in illegal aliens.
"Die hard conservatives" cannot produce an alternative capable of winning. So they have pretty much isolated themselves and made themselves irrelevant.
In fact, few things are more amusing than watching a name of good, long time conservatives get thrown out as a potential then watch the knives come out as the "conservatives" cut them apart for not being conservative enough.
Everyone sees through this crap.
Terrorist planners choose their workers very carefully and are very concerned that they not come into conflict or contact with the law. They made sure to choose the majority of them for 911 from Saudi Arabia PRECISELY because there would be no problem getting them into the country since special arrangements between the US and SA were in effect. They are not now.
It is not I who am being dishonest but you. Have you forgotten (or hope everyone else has forgotten) the HUGE uproar last spring when the Egyptian students did not arrive on time on campus. There was Nationwide publicity, a nationwide manhunt, quick arrests and quick deportation.
And some of these arrests came in the Sanctuary cities.
I have the same disdain for the politicos who have designated their cities as such as you have but don't exaggerate the impact of such nonsense.

Any nominee will have to unite the factions. We'll see who can do it -- Rudy or someone more "moderate to conservative".

Right now, today, my cousin is an EMT in Brooklyn. He isn’t allowed to ask Arabs or anyone else about their legal status and if he discovers it, isn’t allowed to turn them in unless the feds come to him and ask specifically about a person. Ask any NYC cop, fireman, teacher, EMT, they aren’t just banned from asking Mexicans their status, it’s everyone.
I know, it's been pretty easy to spot some this past couple of weeks.
