IAEA: Unexplained Plutonium, Enriched Uranium Traces Found in Iran
VIENNA, Austria Experts from the have found unexplained and traces in a nuclear waste facility in Iran and have asked Tehran for an explanation, an IAEA report said Tuesday.
The report, prepared for next week's meeting of the 35-nation IAEA, also faulted Tehran for not cooperating with the agency's attempts to investigate suspicious aspects of Iran's nuclear program that have lead to fears it might be interested in developing nuclear arms.
The four-page report made available to The Associated Press also confirmed that Iran has continued uranium enrichment experiments in defiance of the U.N. Security Council.

I expect nothing good from the donks on this, but unfortunately W. hasn't doing much more than talking tough on Iran and Syria for the past year, either. Yes, the donks will be worse, but I haven't been impressed with the president's empty warnings.

and in true IAEA fashion, they will do nothing about it.
Ask iran for an explanation? Gimme a break. Followed by what? Sanctions? Boycotts? Hans Blix?
Wake up Western Civilization!

Any chance that we'll preempt the little Iranian scum before the democrats have a chance to neutralize our President for the next 2 years?

Short memory, eh?
First, Saddam signed a piece of paper in 1991 that said, and I quote, "I am your bitch." At that point, Iraq had lost its sovereignty if it failed to live up to bitch conditions.
But the whole world was being bribed by Saddam, so they didn't want to deal with him when he didn't live up to them.
We didn't go into Iran because they hadn't signed that piece of paper.
We're doing Iran the way the UN and the "international community" wanted to deal with Iraq. And you see how that's worked out.
If you thought Iraq was difficult, just imagine what it would have been like going into Iran in 2003, with no bitch document.

Don't be silly. Iran is a peaceful nation. All they want is to provide a cheap, reliable source of electricity for their citizens.
And if you believe that, I have some beach-front property on the outskirts of Wichita to sell you.
And what will the dims do? Negotiations, negotiations, negotiations. Peace through appeasment.

"I haven't been impressed with the president's empty warnings."
I agree that we haven't seen any apparent signs of progress, but I'm just not sure that there is anything short of a massive bombardment of Iranian nuclear and military sites that will have any effect on their push for nuclear weapons. There does not seem to be the slightest chance that Ahm-a-whackoff and friends will turn on a dime and renounce nuclear weapons for real (as opposed to paying false lip-service to the non-proliferation treaty in order to buy time for their nuke weapons program).
Given that the only choices may be either major military action or acquiescence in Iran's creation of nuclear weapons, there is at least a good chance that President Bush will bit the bullet and take action at what he judges to be the most appropriate time. There is no chance at all that the donkeys will support such action, I fear, and it may even re-kindle all the Conyers-style impeachment nonsense......

I think part of the strategy in Iraq was to pressure Iran and support the pro-democracy forces there. Iraq is an excellent base from which to operate against Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, etc. Ultimately all of the islamofascists and the tyrants that sponsor them will have to be taken out. Our problem has been that we lost the political will to stop Iran and Syria from sending their minions over the border to attack us.

Nuclear bombs can be used to make canals. We can only hope that Iran wants them for such peaceful purposes.
Bush is going to go down in history as one of the worst presidents ever if he doesn't change courses soon. Iraq is turning into a disaster and now Iran is about to get the bomb. I wish Bush would do something to make a drastic course change. Either crush Iran's nuclear ambitions now or tell Israel, Korea, and Europe that they are on their own.
Why should we worry about people that don't like us?
To: Enchante
No problem, Piglosi/Reid/Kennedy/Murtha/Boxer/Kerry/Levin will be able handle these minor nusiances via their nuancing.
This not a real problem will be turned over to the UN after Bolton is not approved.

I see many bring up Pelosi,Reid, Boxer, Kerry and Murtha. They do not have the power of war. The last I checked Bush is still the President and he has the constitutional duty to protect this great nation.
To: dinoparty
Geeez! They only told us they were getting closer to making a nuclear bomb. What did the expect to find?
