Well put. I would take a thousand MLK's over one Jesse Jackass or Al Sharp-ton.

As another King aide (and future Atlanta mayor), Andrew Young, described it to Frady:
"I can see Jesse going over and leaning down
and placing both his palms down flat in that pool of
blood, and then standing up and, like this"--and
Young slowly passes both his hands down his
chest--"wiping it down the front of his shirt ..."
What are we to make of this scene? Was it bizarre opportunism? Many thought so. Among them were Coretta Scott King and others who would not speak to Jackson for years to come.

Society used to shun rapists. as far as I know, it still does. has the man been convicted of rape? formally accused of rape?
let me head off your next post -- I'm not defending anyone. My statements are about the office of president. it is that office that is accorded dignity.

Martin Luther King was a great man. He placed himself in great danger to stand up for what he believed in. Those of you on this site who can't understand or appreciate that, play right into the hands of those who feel conservatives are racist or insensitive. I guess some people can't stand the thought of a black man receiving a great honor. You have it completely wrong, my friend. We thought he was a great man, too. Until we found out that he was a plagiarist AND an adulterer. It was one shock upon another. We were stunned and disappointed beyond words. It's hard to come to terms with that. That's what all the negativity is about.

If you mean by court standards; no but by atleast one woman.

And my remarks are about a woman that was raped by a man that was in that office.

I think MLK was a great man who did something about obtaining equal rights for blacks in the South. I don't think anyone can deny that. I love the words "let every man be judged by the content of his character, not the color of his skin", of course that don't play well with the affirmative action crowd.
What the hell is Bill Walton doing in this picture (far left, better picture in the IBD)?? Also, they are all crying like MLK died yesterday. I'm starting to see these events as just trying to keep the affirmative action / government hand out gravy train going. There's also Rep John L. Lewis who will never let us forget he got beat up during a Civil Rights march. It turned out to be a good career move. I too wonder how much us taxpayers are being fl eased for this.

A great man? How about a great orater! He was also a cheatin', wife-beatin', tax dodger who just happened to be the original shake-down artist.
I didn't know Jessie Jackson was a wife beater.

One wonders if the FBI file on MLK will ever be released.
