(CBS) NEW YORK A teenager was shot and killed in front of a Bronx Burger King and the manager of the fast-food restaurant is being charged with the murder.
Police say 16-year-old Shaka Walcott was killed during a shootout with 45-year-old Ronald Johannes, who manages the Baychester Burger King. It's unclear how the gun battle broke out, but witnesses say Walcott was seen spitting in Johannes' face. The two had apparently been engaged in a dispute that had culminated for well over a week's time.

Mr. Johannes is going to be screwed, blued and tattooed by NYC judicial system. He dared to arm himself. Fool.
This was an ongoing problem but the dead angel kept coming back to Johannes' BK restaurant, packing, too, apparently.
"The manager -- he was always mean. He used to kick us out," Robinson said.
"He was acting up, so I just left without ordering my food," said William Jones, another witness.
If Mr. Johannes hasdn't armed himself, we'd be reading about his demise instead of the timely death of another aspiring rap star. Note: My comments are based on the facts as presented in this piece. If things turn out differently, I'd probably have to reassess my comments.

From my reading, a good lawyer should be able to get him off.

I'd hate to be in charge of Burger King's PR department tomorrow. The Monday from hell.

They kind of glossed over that the manager was shot too.

NYC has a simple system: charge whoever survives.

The editor must have been overloaded with work as he left out the part of the victim being an honors student as well.

"a dispute that had culminated for well over a week's time." It rained all night the day I left, the weather it was dry. The sun so hot that I froze to death..

Shaka Walcott You know this guy?

Spit in my face, your arse is mine, I don't want it, but I can always find a hungry gator!
The biggest mistake Mr. Johannes made was staying in NYC, when he could have just chosen America!
What we need to do is turn Rudy loose on the problem, no one understands NYC better, just keep his arse busy, and out of my business! I no longer care what all you crazy Damnyankees do, as long as you do it up there!

To me a "gun battle" involves at least two people with guns shooting. No mention of the dead person doing any shooting and if so, was his gun legal?
To: CindyDawg
and that either God or Shaka Walcott(God's gift to mankind, references guarenteed to follow) put the bullet(s) in the manager with what?

"He was cool, he didn't deserve to get shot like that," said Shaun Robinson, Walcott's friend." It's encouraging to see a sense of propriety endures in this subculture.
