The Chinese captain should be careful not to run into the Russian and Iranian subs that will also be lurking somewhere in the same area.

why would something be put on drudge thats not sourced?
I could say, "Iranian Leader slated for Assassination, developing..." and get about enough credence.

Right...

I'd like to see a sub get within 20 miles of a carrier with its escorts all around it. I think not.

Usually when Drudge does this, it means the story will follow shortly. I will post the story and/or a link to it when he posts it.

And this is all happening during a HUGE US/Japanese naval exercise.

Its not whether they can get close enough, theres really anything the carrier group could do. Its whether they get that close UNDETECTED, obviously they didn't.

Don't worry. It's only a WalMart sub. Isn't China = WalMart?

The Kitty Hawk Strike group just completed exercises with the Japanese Navy.

I don't think it would be too smart for a Chinese sub to be hanging around the Kitty with all those ships around her.

It's not undetectable, just harder to find. There is still machinery noise from those, just not as much as a nuke. If they Hawk found that Chinese sub I hope her helos made the crew deaf from active sonar.

And there is very likely a Seawolf shadowing the Chinese sub. All part of the game.

They probably shot torpedoes at it, and recorded the entire resulting spectrum of emergency chinese comms.

The more ships, the more background noise. The more noise the easier it is to stay undetected.

Thanks Mr.Drudge.

Geez, are you telling me that the Kitty Hawk doesn’t know what threats are around it?

Mr. Drudge, ah man, you need to spend sometime in the military, just so you don’t sound so friggin ridicules when you post things like this to hype your radio show.

A Chinese military delegation will begin a five-day tour of U.S. military installations in Hawaii and California on Monday and meet with senior U.S. officers in the latest step to repair military ties between the two countries. About 30 midlevel military commanders in the People's Liberation Army, including division and brigade commanders, will visit U.S. Pacific Command headquarters in Hawaii, tour a guided missile destroyer in San Diego and observe Marine training at Camp Pendleton, Calif.U.S. officials, not wanting to show their counterparts too many U.S. military capabilities, denied Chinese requests to tour an active U.S. aircraft carrier and see...

Russian subs and ships used to follow us around constantly. In international waters, that Chinese sub can pretty much go anywhere it wants.

Since a carrier battle group usually has a couple of attack subs lurking about, that Chinese captain better not go quiet and stop suddenly or he'll probably have a US attack sub up his kiester.
