A provocative video hits the internet this week showing male soldiers in Iraq aggressively duct-taping a female soldier to a pole!
Titled, "When your the only girl in the maintenance section," the 4 minute long video shows a laughing female getting wrapped up with heavy tape.

This is not an abusive event, but the guy that was stupid enough to tape it and then to allow someone (if not the same) to post it is just plain stupid.
In which branch of the Military did you serve, and for how long?
Have those laughs come from your daughter.
Same stuff goes on in Barney Frank's Basement on an average Saturday night, except no chicks...
bttt
She's laughing the same way that the girl in my coed dorm did during one of my buddy's duct tape experiments.
Ok, you're really being ridiculous about this now.
She is an adult and showed no signs of being afraid or in any kind of danger whatsoever. I have seen how people react when they are afraid or feel as if they are in danger and absolutely none of those indicators are on display in this video.
I'm guessing that you have never been in the military and have no idea how soldiers in a tight knit unit act when they are together.
This soldier doesn't seem to expressing any of the righteous outrage that you are here. Why is that?
We didnt study so we are stuck in Iraq
That looked like harmless playing around. When I had my last airborne CP alert, my female commo and intel officers wrapped and taped me in plastic and gave me the traditional cart-start, popping 4 cans of shaving cream inside my flight suit. It was part of the traditional send-off. Thank God they didn't do the other part of the send-off, hosing me down with a fire hose -- it was December and 20 below outside.
Oh, for pity's sake, they could tape me up there any time...looks like fun...and yes, I'm a woman! I might wind up a widow sooner than I'd like to though because my husband would die laughing.
Yawn...
Damn straight! Shellback, Golden Shellback, and Bluenose here. No freaking big deal.
Heh. When I was in Afghanistan we had a little ritual where would take whoever was getting ready to leave to go back home, 'kidnap' them, and duct tape them to a post by COMPLETELY covering them from head to toe. We even did this to a colonel. He had absolutely no problem with it and was laughing just as hard as the rest of us.
In the extremely unlikely event that my 18 yo daughter ended up in the military (she spent most of her time with her oh so lib-uh-rhul mother, and is now going to UC Santa Cruz), she would insist on being treated 'just like the boys'.
