Elton John Wants to Ban Religion (Because It Promotes Hatred of Gays)

Sir Elton John wants religion banned completely – because he believes it promotes hatred of gays.

Speaking to the Observer Music Monthly Magazine the singer said religion lacked compassion and turned people into “hateful lemmings".

The PRESS ASSOCIATION reports: In a candid interview for a dedicated Gay issue of the magazine he shared his views on topics as varied as being a pop icon to Tony Blair’s stance on the war in Iraq.

He said there was a lack of religious leadership, particularly in world politics, and complained that people do not take to the streets to protest any more.

Sir Elton said: “I think religion has always tried to turn hatred towards gay people. Religion promotes the hatred and spite against gays.

“But there are so many people I know who are gay and love their religion. From my point of view I would ban religion completely.

“Organised religion doesn’t seem to work. It turns people into really hateful lemmings and it’s not really compassionate.”

He added: “The world is near escalating to World War Three and where are the leaders of each religion? Why aren’t they having a conclave? Why aren’t they coming together?

“I said this after 9/11 and people thought I was nuts. Instead of more violence why isn’t there a meeting of religious leaders?

“It’s like the peace movement in the Sixties. Musicians got through to people by getting out there and doing peace concerts but we don’t seem to do them any more.

“If John Lennon were alive today he’d be leading it with a vengeance,” he said.

Sir Elton said people were too busy blogging on the internet to go out onto the streets to stand up for what they believed in.

“They seem to do their protesting online and that’s not good enough. You have to get out there and be seen to be vocal, and you’ve got to do it time and time again.

“There was a big march in London when Britain decided to join the war against Iraq and Tony Blair is on the record as saying ‘the people who march today will have blood on their hands’. That’s returned to bite him on the ass,” he said.

Sir Elton compared his place in British culture with that of the Queen Mother’s.

He said: “People come to me and I’m a bit like the Queen Mother. I never get those problems. I don’t know what it is with me, people treat me very reverently.

Referring to his “wedding” to long-term partner David Furnish, he said: “It was the same when Dave and I had our civil union - I was expecting the odd flour bomb and there wasn’t.

“Dave and I as a couple seem to be the acceptable face of gayness, and that’s great.”

He pledged to continue to campaign for gay rights saying: “I’m going to fight for them whether I do it silently behind the scenes or so vocally that I get locked up.

“I can’t just sit back; it’s not in my nature any more. I’m nearly 60-years-old after all. I can’t sit back and blindly ignore it and I won’t.”

Come to think of it, the Constitution only says the government can't establish religion; guess it can ban it then.

Well...a few years ago I removed - and destroyed - anything by Bruce Springsteen from my music collection after he started calling for the impeachment of Bush at his concerts.

It's about time to do the same for Reginald...

The world's homosexualists have, of course, consistently desired not merely to exercise their preferences in private, but to force the planet's population to recognize their activities as a legitimate alternative to heterosexual marriage. In this endeavor, religion - with its fixed codes of moral rectitude - has always been their greatest enemy. The overthrow of world religion is thus a necessary end, toward which all who are "committed to the cause" must strive. Combined with the noxious diktats of Political Correctness, which insists that sky is earth and earth is sky, up is down and down is up, a significant portion of the world's people are intent on eliminating all rationality from life. Worse, they may be succeeding; the Modern World has become a place which is often a cause for considerable justifiable dismay.

Elton has sucked - in more ways than one - for about 30 years now...at least!

So that's why the feminazis hate Christianity so much!

Appropriate metaphore there. They don't only want to shove it down THEIR throats, you correctly observe that they want to shove it down OURS. The want to legalize doing in PUBLIC what, in another time and a more decent society, a heterosexual couple would be arrested for doing. If you have seen photos or footage of the goings on at some of their "Homofests" around the U.S., they're already DOING THOSE THINGS IN PUBLIC and the cops -- under orders from their PC oriented moron elected bosses -- refuse to move in and stop it. Bill Bennett called it the "coursening of the cuture."

There's a new definition of PC making the rounds that about covers it:

Political Correctness:

”A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”

By spreading this definition around, perhaps we can employ one of the more effective methods of deflating and defeating the fools who practice and promote it: RIDICULE.

Unless stopped – and soon – PC will DESTROY Western Civilization -- if it hasn’t already.

PASS IT ON!!

OK, guys -- what it is: Bill Clinton's CDC released figures a few years ago reflecting that fully 85% of all AIDS/HIV cases are 1. Active, non-monogamous homosexuals, (the largest subset) 2. Heterosexuals and bisexuals who have had sex with group 1 and 3. IV drug abusers who share needles. (Kinda gives new meaning to Romans 6:23, doesn't it?) The remaining 15% are those who have contracted AIDS via other means (such as blood transfusions, making THEM the REAL victims of AIDS.

One homosexual "leader" on the West Coast URGED his fellow homosexuals to CONTINUE to attempt to contaminate the blood supply in order to involve the straight community in the push to increase federal funding for AIDS research. What a guy -- er -- gay! That “research.” BTW, would much less necessary if these folks would simply stop doing nasty and unhealthy things to themselves.

"I don't give a damn if someone is gay or not .. I just want them to stop shoving their sex life down my throat"

Now that's something to choke on.

And before you can ban religion, you have to ban personal ownership of firearms and before that, you have to ban the 2nd Amendment and before that, you have to remove firearms from citizens.

What a predicament; someone who is a pervert and almost certainly doesn't like guns, is going to need a whole lot of guns before he can ban Christianity, or Judism, and especially Islam...

ALL homosexual activists believe this.

Most homosexuals believe this so it is no surprise.

(see NYT editorial policy)

Elton John is just barfing the hedonistic line. Religion says you can't hump link an indiscriminate animal and therefore it is bad.

Sounds like elton likes to be a reciever.

Elton, shut up and sing----or better yet, don't sing. You haven't sounded that good for a decade or more.
Funny, how he misses the whole point of what he is obviously still in denial about---that most of the civilized world accepts "gayness" as long as it doesn't continually come out and aggressively promote itself as victim in the "we're here, we're queer, we're in your face! mode. He said he was expecting "the odd flour bomb" at the civil union of him and his partner, but it didn't happen. "I guess we are the acceptable face of gayness" is the mistaken lesson he draws from that.

Congress can't pass a law prohibiting the free exercise of religion...but activist judges can make up whatever rules they want.
