Al-Qaeda eyes White House bombing
New tape released by terror group says mobilized 12,000 fighters in Iraq, crows over Rumsfeld's departure Associated Press
Al-Qaeda in Iraq claimed in a new audio tape Friday to be winning the war faster than expected in Iraq, saying it had mobilized 12,000 fighters.
The group also said it welcomed the Republican electoral defeat that led to the departure of Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, and it added that its fighters would not rest until they had blown up the White House.
Abu Ayyub al-Masri, also known as Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, also urged the US to stay in Iraq so his group would have more opportunities to kill American troops.
“The al-Qaeda army has 12,000 fighters in Iraq, and they have vowed to die for God’s sake,” a man introduced as al-Muhajir said in an audio tape made available on militant Web sites.
“We will not rest from our Jihad until we are under the olive trees of Rumieh and we have blown up the filthiest house — which is called the White House,” al-Muhajir said.
Al-Muhajir became the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq after Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a US airstrike in June.
The tape could not be independently verified.
The speaker praised the outcome of Tuesday’s elections in which Democrats swept to power in the House and the Senate, in large part due to US voter dissatisfaction over the handling of the war in Iraq.
“The American people have put their feet on the right path by ... realizing their president’s betrayal in supporting Israel,” the terror leader said. “So they voted for something reasonable in the last elections.”
Describing President Bush as “the most stupid president” in US history, al-Masri reached out to the Muslim world and said his group was winning the war in Iraq faster than expected due to US policies.
He urged Bush not to withdraw US forces so al-Qaeda could have more opportunities to fight US soldiers. “We haven’t had enough of your blood yet,” he told the US.
The speaker also referred to Rumsfeld’s resignation and called on “the lame duck (Bush) not to hurry up in escaping the same way the defense minister did.” “They are getting ready to leave, because they are no longer capable of staying,” the al-Qaeda leader said, referring to US forces.
“Remain steadfast in the battlefield, you coward,” he said, addressing Bush.
We have heard nothing from Bin Laden and his #2 man since Tuesday - you have to wonder why.
Do they really think they can get the WH? They are dreaming if they think that.
Now, but only now, can Hillary and Pelosi bring it on with their "support the country/fight the enemy" agenda. They will.

Never underestimate your enemy, especially religious fanatics that are committed as these people are.
Remember to them, death is a welcome thing.
They came pretty damned close to the white house on 9/11. They did get the pentagon, they did get the WTC, and the plane for the capitol was on its way.
We've got to keep an eye out for potential openings because we know they're looking for an opening.

The one thing we cannot do is underestimate the enemy .. both abroad and at home.
If we really believe the left is in sympathy with the enemy, why wouldn't it assist in the bombing of the White House?

Perhaps they are thinking Washington,D.C. as a viable strike zone and with democrats helping them achieve their end, it is only a matter of when.
I'm thinking about retiring to some mountain in Idaho. My sense is that if we could not even get this election right, in the long run there's not much hope.
Pelosi, Conyers, et al, will now find SOMETHING upon which to impeach Bush. They have two years to do it and, likely, they will find some "obstruction of justice".
Their pimps in the media will quickly sign on and the Republicans likely will go back to being the permanent, ignored, minority party.
It worked after Nixon's amazing victory in /72, it'll certainly work after this loss.
The Vietnam/Watergate playbook is in tact.

I'll bet that they can under the democrats control.(after all, they will cut down on allowable intelligence) And once they do, the dems will be offering all sorts of appeasement things,say, financial incentives for no more attacks.

Good point. The left cradles the terrorists as poor victims of American transgressions against the world. America may fall under the left.
Hopefully, Congress can keep it's eyeball on the country between:
Bush impeachment investigation
Warrant less wiretap investigation
9/11 MIHOP investigation
Prisoner abuse investigation
Gitmo investigation
Diebold election fraud investigation
and the other "seriousness of the charge" investigation the new congress will drag us though in the next two years.

Some dreams come true. After Tuesday? SURE! Iran has oil and wants nukes. Korea has nukes and wants oil. Can they make a deal?
Even a "Dirty Bomb" or a "Fizzle" would create a gigantic mess. (If nobody can go into the White House for 1000 years, it's pretty much "destroyed")
Well, I hope they wait till Hillary is there and the First Gentleman is entertaining in his "private" quarters. If Hillary wins the next election, they might as well put in red lights on all the light fixtures of the White House. Bill will turn it into a brothel.
If they allow an attack, they will pay a heavy price for it.
If a tape was released a few months before 9-11 stating that they were going to blow up those particular targets at some point and time in the future, WHO would have believed them, yet it happened.
The majority of Americans are arrogant and forgetful.
Our country is NOT protected. Terrorists are "idiot savants." They are IDIOTS in their religious beliefs, yet they are genius when it comes to new and creative ways to get around U.S. security and new ways to kill and destroy.
All that to say that yes, I believe this COULD happen, especially with Dems in charge of national security.
You think maybe we can get them to wait until President Hillary or Nancy moves in?
