Elton toilet is a no-talent has-been. Frank Sinatra had more talent and class on his worst day than Elton has had during his long career of torturing the ears of the public.

How bigoted of him.

Of course. He's just overtly expressing one of the more semi-covert items on the DEMOinC-RATS agenda.

I liked Elton John's songs. I lost respect for him when I read an article many years ago about when an friend sent him a birthday gift: a 15-yr old boy dressed only in a bowtie....

Of course he would. Giving that imp any more than a few seconds of thought makes no sense to me.

He says he would ban religion because it promotes hatred. Gee, isn't that kinda hateful? Maybe gays should be banned too.

What do you expect from a liberal homosexual?

he believes it promotes hatred of gays.

That's like accusing a mirror of promoting ugliness. The "hatred," which is really nothing more than rejection, is the result of homosexuality's abhorrent practices, not any "promotion" on the part of religion. Yes, religions, including Christianity, tend to reject homosexuality, but because it is a sin, not out of sadism.

And in the end (!), if the pressure against homosexuality causes a person to reassess his commitment to that abominable lifestyle and seek redemption, then the pressure saved him from the fruits of his sin.

And that is the ultimate in compassion, not the enabling mentality that permits a person to destroy himself.

Has anybody asked Leo Sayer or that guy who sang the Pina Colada song for their thoughts on religion?

Possibly, what Sir Elton is so upset about is the amount of hatred and death done in the name of religion (i.e. current Islamic extremists, Spanish Inquisition, Crusades, Cromwell and William of Orange's campaigns in Ireland)

I would think that all people that choose to live a life that will guarantee them a reservation at the Eternal Lake of Burning Hellfire all feel that way.

The world is near escalating to World War Three and where are the leaders of each religion? Why aren't they having a conclave? Why aren't they coming together?

I might ask the same about the secular authorities. Or the leaders of the homosexual community for that matter.

Keep in mind, Elton, that the religious leaders of this world aren't tasked with solving earthly problems. Theirs is a more spiritual domain.

This just exemplifies the idiocy and selfishness of some gays and the left. Rosie O'Donnell's recent comments about "the goodness in the world" is another prime example.

Good grief.

I use to respect Elton John, because he seemed to be gay, but not to be the kind of activist nutcase that some are.

Apparently I was wrong.

Really, the guy's 60YO and hasn't figured out the user's manual yet? Does he really think he's an authority on anything other than how to be a freak?

One of his good friends in Caleb Quaye, who played guitar in Bluesology with Reginald Dwight before he was Elton. Played on his first couple of albums. Spectacular guitar player.

Now, Quaye is an Evangelical Christian who instructs church worship leaders through the Foursquare Denomination. I saw him a couple of months ago at my church, and Quaye specifically mentioned that he talks to Elton regularly and witnesses to him, too. You never know....
