We need him now. Of course, he would be in jail under Dingy Harry and Nancy so not much good to us.

"Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies, and establish Thy justice among men and nations. Amen."
Huah!

General Patton was fighting a Conventional War. We are fighting a counter insurgency. Your "War the Right way" dogma was tried in Vietnam and Afghanistan.
It failed miserably. Patton would know better then to try and fight his style war today. Same way he would no more advocate fighting World War 2 with a World War 1 army.
You insult his memory by trying to use him as a political propaganda prop.

in the field surgery:
Patton: What's the matter with you?
Soldier: I can't take it sir
Patton: What did you say?
Soldier: It's my nerves - I can't stand the shelling any more
Patton: Hell you're just a GD coward!

I always tried to get my dad to talk about WWII. It was like pulling teeth to get him to open up. He served with the 250th which was attached to Gen LeClare and then Gen. Patten.
When the movie Patton came out I rented it hoping that he would discuss some of the history. His only response was "They sure cleaned up his language for the movie".

Always amuses me how the Patton wannabees worship a Hollywood movie image and miss the real man completely.
If everybody is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking.
"Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity."
Patton adapted his thinking to the war he was fighting, he did not try to force his mission to fit into his preconceived ideas. Don Rumsfeild was trying to teach you all those same lessons. And like Patton the brass hats hated him as much as they hated Patton in his day
