Just days after his resignation, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is about to face more repercussions for his involvement in the troubled wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. New legal documents, to be filed next week with Germanys top prosecutor, will seek a criminal investigation and prosecution of Rumsfeld, along with Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, former CIA director George Tenet and other senior U.S. civilian and military officers, for their alleged roles in abuses committed at Iraqs Abu Ghraib prison and at the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba...
... Lawyers for the plaintiffs say that one of the witnesses who will testify on their behalf is former Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski, the one-time commander of all U.S. military prisons in Iraq. Karpinski who the lawyers say will be in Germany next week to publicly address her accusations in the case has issued a written statement to accompany the legal filing, which says, in part: It was clear the knowledge and responsibility [for what happened at Abu Ghraib] goes all the way to the top of the chain of command to the Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld ...
Thanks 7
She's being paid .. don't know by who .. but when she was givn that post she didn't have the slightest idea how to make it work. She left it to the officers to do as they pleased.
I still say to this day .. THIS WAS A SET-UP FROM THE BEGINNING - and I think Hillary was involved - because she was one of the first people to get hold of the pictures.
If I had been relieved of command and sent home from a war zone I would keep quiet for the rest of my life and pray that no one remembered who I was.
I agree with that one Freeper she does look like Manpigbear that character from South Park LOL!
No. And let anyone from that court put a foot on American soil and they will wish they had not.
I would hope that this woman is judged by her character (or rather lack thereof) rather than her X chromosomes. Obviously having a Y chromosome provides no guarantees!
She is "retired", so she isn't. However, a General is never actually retired. They are all subject to recall to active duty on the orders of the President. So, Bush should recall her to active duty and stick her on some base in the Aleutians or on a small atoll in the South Pacific ( like Kwadjalein ). Since she would be on active duty, she would be subject to the UCM
You simply cannot have women in sensitive, operational, command positions. When you do, this is what you get. "Hell hath no fury" hysteria from a woman who has descended from incompetence into treason.

Poor Rumsfield, persecuted, prosecuted and even presecuted!
My guess goes to Ramsey (a.k.a. The Traitor) or brother Wesley (a.k.a. The Weasel) Clark.
But then you have Michael (a.k.a. The Blob) Moore, the A.C.L.U., the list goes on and on...
Take away her pension or even better hang her for treason!!!
Another military traitor like the "girley" man j.Skerry in Paris and elsewhere!!!
Duty Honor Country is the motto of the US Military Academy. Just for the record, BG Karpinski was NOT an academy graduate. However, she is a prime example of why I believe women have no place in combat. Flame away if you will, but that's the way this old dinosaur feels.
I sincerely hope that you borrowed the book from the library???
You must have listened to our conversation, because my wife said exactly the same words today!!!
Have you NOT wondered why we now have women at the sideline on tv-football games with ONLY men players???
Hmmmm!!!
Just three (3) very simple letters: P-M-S!!!
Why would I flame away, you're right?
I know it's the motto of the USMA but I've always considered it to be something that every officer in all branches of the military should remember and adhere to. I was enlisted but it's something we were aware of over 40 years ago.
I also agree with you on the women in combat but there are many places in the military that I believe women can serve and be a genuine asset.
Thank you for your service, USMA'71.
If Germany wishes to pursue this course in prosecuting Rumsfeld, I say we need to close all of our bases over there and redeploy every single American Military person there. After all, shouldnt they be responsible for their own defense? Why are we there still? That war was over long ago. Why are we paying them billions in dollars every year just to be there to be slapped around symbolically by them. Our presence there is producing more Nazis, even though our media doesnt report on them.
After my tours in Viet Nam, I was stationed there from 1971 to 1974 and they didnt like us then, long before either Bush was in office or our entry into Iraq.
We dont need troops in Germany or Europe. We should redeploy nearby, and could always rapidly re-enter from elsewhere, if need be.
