I was an M2 gunner and one of the best in my unit. When we would do gunnery / qualification, Sgt Metcalf and I had a running bet on who could make their qualification ... and bring back the most rounds.

5 vehicle targets 2 of them moving.... using single shot we could both hit all five of our targets but sometimes it took a second round to knock the target down. Many times both of us brought back 90+ rounds out of a belt.

Loser had to buy the beer.

How sooooooo politically incorrect of you! LOL!

Thanks for your service...enjoy your day tomorrow.

I'll never forget my Towed Vulcan platoon (ADA) back in '78. 3 of my 4 squad leaders were acting-jacks, and I'll swear the average age of my platoon was 19, if you exclude my 35 YO Plt Sgt. Seemed like I got more than my share of the "problem children", too.

They were green, but they busted their tails off for me, and we whipped the other platoons during tac evals and ARTEPs.

My favorite deuce dream is the movie, one of the "Tremors" sequels, where Burt (?) opened up at night on a bunch of walking graboids (the evolution stage before ass-blasters) with pedestal-mounted quad AA deuces....he laughed all the way through until he emptied the cans....(must have had one big woody.....).....
