Plano Mother Set Free 3 Years After Drowning Children

PLANO, Texas -- A Plano mother who drowned her two children in 2003 is free to restart her life.

Lisa Diaz is home with her relatives, just three years after killing her two young daughters.

In September 2003, Diaz drowned the sisters, 3 and 6 years old. She told police voices told her to kill them and she was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

Doctors said Diaz had recovered enough to be sent home, and a judge ordered her set free.

Collin County prosecutors released this statement: "Given Ms. Diaz apparent swift recovery, Judge Rusch had no choice but to release her. Today's decision underscores the need to reform the insanity defense so that intentional killers are held accountable.”

Diaz and her husband divorced while she was in the mental hospital.

I agree it's hard to believe, but where does it say she was released because of the election results?

It doesn't... it's just an unrelated piece of insanity.

Democrats get power... insanity follows.
Reminds me of Side Show Bob's threats from "The Simpsons" where he claims he will not remain in prison forever to the point to where he will get out "when the Democrats come back into power." I never thought it would happen so soon though. B-(

Maybe you should speak to your fellow downtrodden men who always argue against prosecuting female pedophile teachers if they are "cute".

Democrats do not hold power in Texas. There is plenty of things for them to be blamed with but this is not one of them.

Diaz is the poster-child for execution;

if she'd been executed, she'd not be back on the street.

What do you want to bet she gets knocked-up and pops some more kids out?
They'll be turning Andrea Yates loose next.

She was found not guilty by a jury.

Evidentally the jury was wrong.

I'm guessing Yates will be released in less than 7 years. I'll say 4.
