Anyone remember seeing any TV ads for Tom McClintock? Anyone see any ads for the Republicans running for AG, Insurance Commissioner, anything?
All I ever saw were Schwarzenegger ads in radio, TV, and print. Period. No support at all from the CA GOP for anyone else. None.

I don't think it was true here either in Texas..We won back our governor and senator same old democrat is still there Chett Edwards he gets the wetback and black vote...the one that lost that took Delays place on the ballet didn't win because the people weren't told that if they went ahead and punched Delay that the vote would go to the person running in his place...So much for poll watching..At least that is what I heard..

Fug.
We have GOT to find new ways to reach people who do not vote. Turnout is pathetic for as important an election this was.
9-11 wasn't enough to wake people up.

[ ELECTION AFTERMATH: Republican voters didn't show up at the polls ]
Not true... Funny that that voter fraud from the voting machines got dropped like a hot potato..
Which of course means it must have been MASSIVE...
And the pubbie candidates really won in many races..
For sure non citizen legal and illegal aliens voted..
How many?... Indeed how many?..

Cut And Run Republicans In California cost the downticket the election. Tom McClintock could have beaten Garamendi except for their absence and the same is true of other conservative candidates. This reports makes me livid with anger.

Maybe it's because there was nothing at the top of the ticket for the occasional-voters in the conservative counties.
Given the choice between Arnold and his twin Angelides, many, many good voters stayed home.

The Republican party is in denial! All of the Republicans I know showed up. It was not the Republican base that didn't show up it was the Independents and the Democratic base that did the Republicans in. After two years of the MSM and the Dims pounding the drum that the Iraq war is wrong, illegal, poorly managed, unwinable, etc. In addition to the MSM and the dims and even some Republican candidates asking for Rumsfeld to resign, various scandals, etc. The Republican leadership sat back and let this happen.

The turnout in Republican counties was low compared to the turnout in counties where Democrats hold the edgeThat could be ballot stuffing by Dems.

You can't expect people to be motivated by just saying - Pelosi, Rangel, Waxman.....
Republicans are not Dems and need more than just fear of your opponents.
It has to be some cause and the cause should be clearly defined, and Repulican't leadership failed on both counts.

I'm so sorry Tom didn't win :-(
The spark of hope is that Lincoln was defeated repeatedly at first, also... hope Tom doesn't give up!
