Iraq Qaeda chief says Rumsfeld fleeing battlefield
Reuters ^ | November 10 2006

A purported audio recording by the leader of Iraq's al Qaeda wing said outgoing U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld quit to flee the Iraqi battlefield.

Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, also known as Abu Ayyub al-Masri, said in the recording posted on the Internet that the group has 12,000 armed fighters and 10,000 others waiting to be equipped to fight U.S. troops in Iraq.

"I tell the lame duck (U.S. administration) do not rush to escape as did your defence minister ... stay on the battleground."

Stung by a "thumping" defeat at Tuesday's Congressional elections, U.S. President George W. Bush said Rumsfeld had resigned because there was need for "fresh perspective in Iraq."

Bush said he was open to any idea for a new approach and publicly reaffirmed a belief that "victory" was possible in Iraq. The change of guard raised speculation it was meant to pave the way for a swift U.S. troop withdrawal.

The speaker vowed allegiance to Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, the head of a Sunni Islamic state comprising Iraq's mostly Sunni Arab provinces which was announced in October by al Qaeda and groups affiliated to it.

"I say to ... the ruler of believers (Baghdadi) I vow allegiance to you," he said. "I put under your command 12,000 fighters who are the army of the al Qaeda," he said.

The speaker called on fellow Sunni insurgent groups in Iraq to join ranks under the Islamic state.

We announce today the end of a phase of the jihad (holy war) and the start of a new one … to usher in the project of an Islamic caliphate and restore Islam’s glory,” Abu Hamza al-Muhajer said in the message.,”We swear we will not rest from our jihad … before blowing up the filthiest house, dubbed the White House.”

I think your right Ichabod1, it will happen just as soon as the dems have a chance to dismantle or cripple the intel services again. If anybody goes on trial for incopatence for the Iraqi war and 9/11 it ought to be the people that held the white house and served in Congress and the Senate under Clinton and Carter.

Pelosi will probably appoint Bin Laden to some committee chair. She won't have to capture him; she will hire him to investigate prisoner abuse.

I have a message for Abu Hamza al-Muhajir: How's Zarqawi doing, you miserable POS? And before you start accusing anybody of fleeing the battlefield, who's been hiding under a table in a safehouse since 9/11?

America’s compassion and morals will be our undoing. We worry about world opinion too much. If Muslims are truly evil, and truly represent the end of Western civilization, we must destroy them at there core. This means the US must make the big decisions without worry of world opinion. People, they already hate our guts!!

Muslims are making the New Testament and the Koran a self fulfilling prophesy. In reality, all of the religious books and teachings are for the feeble minded. There is no real truth in these stories, only far fetched interpretations and fantasy. Hasidic Jews believe the world is only 5700 +- years old!! How many embellishments and ridiculous stories can intelligent educated people take, until they realize these book are just intended to control the desperate people of that time?? Oh, it just burns my rear end to think how so many people are being manipulated by various scriptures!!

These books (the Koran and the New and Old Testament) were only a means to control the masses. How they’ve made it through the millennia is a mystery to me.

True, there some good teachings in the Old and New Testament mostly derived from good common sense. But the Koran and its teachings are of pure evil intentions, and no good can come of it for anyone. It’s a shame how such a large group of people just like us (Muslims) could have been fooled and intimidated into Islam by a madman like Mohammed.

Ending my rant, and back to the original subject.

We must commit 400,000 troops or more to this war we are fighting. We must snuff out the enemy wherever they are hiding, even if they are hiding amongst civilians. These civilians aren’t really innocent, and shouldn’t be thought of as such. They are harboring the enemy, period.

We will need to reinstate the draft, and that’s a bitter pill. Unfortunately, there is no other way to win this war. The atomic bomb should be a last resort, but not taken off the table as a means to an end. If mine or any country is attacked by an atomic bomb, we should swiftly ELIMINATE the enemy with the same. And that’s wherever they may be…

I think you're right. They are worm food. We should have known right after they announced the hit. The Pakistanis were too eager to tell us that Zawahri was not there, all we hit was some al Qaeda trainees. They did not want to deal with the fallout that would have resulted if it became apparent that Musharraf had betrayed Zawahri and bin Laden.

OBL knew America's leftwing Vietnam press was still in charge of this country. He knew Americans would surrender.

As I said in a post a couple of days ago, OBL assessed the mendacity of the left and the Old Media and the shortsightedness of the American Public more accurately than did that genius, Carl Rove.

RedEyeJack, thank you for your service and your posts. I can't help but think if you were reporting the news on Iraq here State side, things would be much different. You are not only having a positive impact in Iraq, but here on FR as well.

If we lose now it will be because those elected on 7 November don't have the intelligence to understand what is happening and expediently want to make the masses "feel good" now.

As true as this is, think about the lack of intelligence that went into electing these morons in the first place. The sheople of this country have only themselves to blame for what we have for "leadership" in our government. Unfortunate that our military has to pay the price for the shortsightedness of our electorate.
