He signed up to support and defend the constitution of the United States of America and to obey the President and the officers appointed over him.

You are just parsing words. My statement implied exactly what you rewrote.

our hero has been made aware that he is an ambassador for the Army when in public, and should act accordingly.

Like Jon Carey did? And don't give me that crap about being an ambassador. Former PRESIDENTS have said worse things on foreign soil in very recent months than this soldier did.

Thanks. I'm still hard pressed to find the words.

No, it didn't - I pointed out the differences to you.

Like Jon Carey did?

Your obsession with John Kerry is as stupid as it is boring.

Looks to me like the "conservative" vote was inconsequential. There was more movement by Moderates and Liberals. The percent Conservative vote overall probably went down because they're probably thinking, if what passed the last 6 years is Conservative, then I must be something else.

VOTE BY IDEOLOGY

2006 - House - National

TOTAL Democrat Republican
Liberal (20%) 87% 11%
Moderate (47%) 60% 38%
Conservative (32%) 20% 78%

2004 - House - National

TOTAL Democrat Republican
Liberal (21%) 83% 14%
Moderate (45%) 56% 43%
Conservative (34%) 17% 81%

Few civilizations have ever deserved the sacrifice of those few gallants willing to put it all on the line. God Bless this young soldier and his comrades. But don't worry! One electoral set-back does not mean the loss of the war.

Also, keep in mind that a number of the people the Dems recruited to win the Congress were former military. In the not-too-distant future, we'll need hundreds of conservative Republican candidates for offices across the country. And I can think of no better candidate recruiting ground that former military men....

Example?

"... intel is scoured and then reviewed repeatedly for anything supportive of a pre-existing conclusion rather than being used to formulate one from scratch, and information which invalidated the desired result was suppressed?"

Ok, and that statement was based upon material from Paul R. Pillar and the "Curveball" data - do those have something to do with Israel that I'm unaware of, or is there some other connection you're inferring?

Oh really, so my post is nonesense? If you don't vote, you don't matter. You give away your right to moan and groan, you're nothing, actually less than nothing.

You're citing CNN Exit Polls and expect to be taken seriously? LOL!

(Or was that sarcasm and you forgot the tag?)

The personal anecdotes of a group of FReepers and talk show callers doesn't constitute irrefutable fact..at least not to me.

Thank you for that, evad. I think the blamers need to give it a rest. I'm listening to Jed Babbin filling in for Hugh Hewitt this afternoon. He opened the show by saying, "Where do we [conservatives/Republicans] go from here?" This is where the emphasis needs to be, not on the endless finger-pointing.

The only reason I pursue this question is I feel if we are going to recover from this debacle, it would be best if we proceed from a correct assumption. The analysis from the Tarrance Group has found different facts from the stay at home theory.

I hope some here are paying attention to your cool rationality. We need to cool off and look at facts. It's the only way we will learn something.

Are you calling me a 'blamer' because I cited the fact that the libertarian vote cost us two important Senate seats and a potential originalist SC justice, the life of the unborn and the support of our troops?

I think that's significant information to be shared on a conservative forum........especially considering what we are going to be up against in the next two years, and how demoralized our troops feel. (The votes of ubercons against those who support our troops directly affects my son as he faces another deployment to Iraq without a Republican Congress).

The fact that libertarians, claiming conservatism, have helped do this to them is important information.

It does not negate the fact that we need to analyze and come up with what to do next (as evad and I both agreed), but the information that libertarians cost us dearly in this election should NOT be hidden under the rug. Not if we are to be intellectually honest.

In your post you claimed slightly more than half of Americans voted for the "Rats.

I called that part nonsense. Many of the races were very close. As I stated, around 55,000 votes tripped the election to the Dems nationwide. When you spread it out that way, it in no way, shape or form is slightly more than half of Americans.

I volunteered time with the Kennedy campaign in Minnesota, and donated a lot of hard-earned cash ro Republican candidates. And, oh yes, I voted straight R as always.

Good evening.

So sorry to read this, but I can't blame them for how they must feel. I feel the same way actually. The war on terror SHOULD have been THE issue in this election. It wasn't, not even to some republicans who only cared about their pet three or four issues. So sad that we have forgotten what happened here, and have let the military down. But hey, it is more important that people had their pet issues addressed right?

The Libertarian vote was a factor, but there are others. Let's wait for all the data. Then we UNITE into a conservative coalition and put forward the best candidate in 2008.

Third partiers annoy me too, but what about those who do not vote at all, or even bother to register? That's the dead weight in this country.

AS a troop you should understand that losing a battle does not mean losing the war.

There's a question I've been wanting to ask, if we ever get any follow-up from Aaron.

Aaron, did you vote in this election? Did your buddies vote? Did you encourage family and friends back home to vote? Just wondering...

Do as we did in the Nam war, disregard all the BS going on over here. Fight for each other. Pull that Brotherhood that is you and your unit together as if nothing else matters.

Be not distracted by the cowards, America haters, democrats, and their ilk. What happenned over here is beyond your control, for now...

Fight Hard, watch out for you brothers and sisters safety... and remember, there is a HUGE group of us that love, respect, and honor you for your service.

Keep Sharp! We are more than likely going to need your special skills when you return home...

I would love to unite, La Enchiladita.........with other conservatives, and like minded patriots.

But there are those here whose sole purpose is to divide, some DU trolls, but others who perceive themselves more conservative than the rest of us, and we need to be aware that it's happening, or they will succeed in breaking apart any unity we have here.

Our goals are exactly the same, you and I......
