I'll be truthful. I'm not a Bust-bot at all, if he does right, I'll praise him (or any other politician) but if he does wrong, I will take issue. This election was topsy turvey for me. In the beginning, I was going to vote for Casey over Santorum because Santorum voted for CAFTA. Generally I feel both parties are out of touch economically with the American people but the Republicans since they had the power needed to be punished. Then as time goes on, I figured, well, Casey, why whould I vote for him. His only message is, "I'm not Rick Santorum," beyond that, I don't know what his plans or ideas were and he wasn't making a case to vote for him as it was a vote against Santorum. Wel, at that point, I figure I would just stay home.

I like to listen to Glenn Beck and Michael Savage. Sean Hannity is OK too, but too much of a self promoter at times plus by the time he rolls around, I'm burnt out on politics. Rush is too much of a Bush-Bot or Republican-Bot for my taste and to a lesser extent, Jim Quinn, altough I still listen to him. Savage and Beck, are pro-America, leaning conservative yet more independent voices who are not afraid to go against the grain and say something is wrong. Still, I remember the day Glenn Beck interviewed Rick Santorum on his show where he interviewed Rick with a battery of questions. The questiosn require only "yes" or "no" answers, no spinning allowed but after the session, one can go back and clarify things. Santorum is a very strong voice in the current wr and his yes and no answer made me decide to stick with him and the Republicans despite some of my disagreements with some of their policies. I can never fathom the idea of turning over Congress to the moonbats. If we were back in the days of FDR, Truman, JFK, or even Hubert Humphrey, I would have no problems with people of their ilk in control of Congress. However, we live in the era of the liberal moonbat that had been ushered in back in 1972 with George McGovern and you see the results today.

One thing that stuck in the back of my mind too is "what about the troops," if we "did a Spain" in Congress, we might as well draw targets on their backs. Looks likr I'm not the only one worried about this as we see this letter from a soldier in Iraq.

I guess the "brain eating bug" from Heinlein's "Starship Troopers" is real, it seems like last week, our national IQ dropped 10 or 20 points. Still, I know Istayed the course in the end.

Hey, my buddy is a Col in the 10th 1st BCT. He had two tours in Afstan and certainly does not talk that way.

And here are a few paragraphs from an aerospace soldier stationed in Afstan.

"13 November 2006 - Well, today is the five year anniversary of the expulsion of the Taliban from Kabul and you know, it was a peaceful day. In fact, we have been sort of surprised at how calm it has been relatively speaking here. Now, no one is complaining about it it's just that we've come to expect an "event" every week or so..kind of waiting for the other shoe to fall.

I spent the day with _____ working on establishing an awards program for the ANA in Log Command, it was a good day indeed. We designed a certificate and began the process of writing some simple procedures for them to follow. When we have productive days like today I get home and really feel like we're making a difference, amazing how each day can be so different.

Had a little bit of excitement as we came home because the Camp is under an exercise and the front gate was closed.we rolled up and knew something was amiss when all we could see was a couple of ____-caliber machine guns pointed our way. _______, the local mayor of Camp ________, was shouting on his bull horn and pointing to us to back up. Fortunately we figured it out that we weren't going to be allowed to enter and were able to back-up. Made the trip around the block and quickly entered the base. I just love these not notice Battle Drills the Army goes through, we normally don't play, however, when the gate is closed and the guns are brought to bear you're sort of left with no choice in the matter. Better to be prepared though so the minor inconvenience they cause is not a big deal.......

We live in a blessed nation and I don't want a day to go by where I'm not thankful..I don't want a day to go by where I ask myself, "Am I ready?" I know the answer and the it is amazing the peace that you have when you know where your heart really is. That is why some here say, "Your Brave!" not really, I'm just secure in the knowledge that His hands are upon me and with so many prayers going up I know that I nothing to fear.

Snow is on the surrounding peaks so we know it won't be long before we have it here. I will say this, it sure is cold in the huts at night these days even though we have heaters your feet freeze because the cold air lingers low while the warm air goes out the roof! Most of us now wear two pairs of socks to help keep our feet warm, I guess it is time to break out the cold weather gear!"

The last sentence was meant for me! :) And I will be happy to oblige.

I am very close to my deployment date... And this is exactly how I feel. Will I have to come home with my uniform hidden and my duffel bags covered so I do not get spit on and have blood and other noxious things thrown at me by the 'tolerant' 'open minded' leftists who betrayed me to our enemies? Will I have the same fate as my parents (both US Army officers in Vietnam)?

I work with a lot of DoD civilians now. I am one of the few active military members they see. They see how red in the face with anger and frustration I get when I hear the leftists speaking their hate and garbage.

I will go to Iraq and do my duty. I will do it because of my oath, my upbringing, and my family. I will do it for my People, even if 51% are too stupid to see the danger of islamofascism or too eager to embrace it. And because America showed, again, that we are weak and hollow, all Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen are now in 10 times more danger than on 6 Nov.

Yet this somehow makes leftists like Mikey (Hezbollah is my distributor) Moore and Cindy (I sent $600,000 to the terrorists in Fallujah) Sheehan extremely happy. Can I paint the picture any more clearly on what the left really is!!??!!
