Thoughts on the Election Results from a Soldier in Iraq
Rusty Humphries Show ^ | 11/09/06 | cp124

I know you probably get a lot of messages asking you to read stuff on your show, but I BEG you to read this...... I would like you to tell America exactly what they did to their soldiers on Tuesday, and what WE think about our countrymen right now.

"I hope you are satisfied with what you have done...

Today in the mess hall, where there is usually jovial conversation, there was silence, long faces, and broken spirits... Everyone, to include all American soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen, Iraqi Nationals, Bulgarian Soldiers, etc, etc... was speechless, tired, demoralized and stunned.... all ate in erie silence.....

Last night, while we watched the press conference with the President, there was utter discust, and the common feeling amongst us all that we soldiers are now the loneliest people on Earth.... we fight an enemy over here, and we have a country full of enemies to go home to that are our countrymen. We watched President Bush say his own political funeral, our commander and chief.. as well as ours..... He tried so hard to spin it, but... well.. there is no way to soften such a morale blow.

While you sit and Monday morning quarterback what we work so hard to do for you out here, just know that the spirit of your team is wounded..... YOU liberals, you America have done a great job of demoralizing us... Thank you.

Do us a favor though, when we do come home, spare us the ceremony....... We all now know that it is a bunch of crap, and what you think of us.......

I have to say that right now, I would rather be a pussy ass Frenchman, even though they have no will to fight, at least they have the balls to make a decision and stick with it...... They stuck to thier guns about staying out of this war, even if it was the wrong decision......America on the other hand, goes off half cocked, and when the decision appears to be a hard one, or something that might cost a little bit, they turn tail and run.....

WHAT A NATION OF PUSSIES!!!!

This week I am NOT proud to say that I am an American..........I think it is obvious why... See, we just have told the world that we are not a nation of people who are tough, and will fight for what we believe in... We have told the world that we are a giant coward that will shy away from any difficult challenge...

So, while you eat your cheetos, and sit there and watch your lazy ass get fatter, dumber and happier Joe Citizen.. Just remember this, I, and all my commrades payed a dear price to come this far and have you decide that we should fail...

Realize this, because of your action this week America.... do not expect so many men to be so willing to stand up for your next little whim just to be cut down in the middle of it all............

Realize this also.. you have just put a heavy price on the heads of us all...... Now that we are branded as cowards, we are an easy target, oh so inviting for the taking....... I swore to protect your children in your beds.... yet you fling the door wide open inspite of me to invite the scourge.... Well.... have it your way then.

Because of this, September 11th will soon be overshadowed by these same enemies.. my advice to you is get your lazy, self centered ass up and make peace with your God, and your family.. cause, time will come when they may not be there for you................Because you kicked me in the teeth, and so many others, I know I won't any more.. "

Aaron.

I think the constant reporting of the negative in Iraq and not reporting all of the good that's happening is largely to blame. The lost media did their dirty work month after month. The people should have seen through it though. Maybe good will come of this by 2008...and I'm sure GW will want success in Iraq all the more after the election losses.

The ones who voted Libratarian are the worst. Did you see the numbers of the votes? If they had voted Republican, we would have had an easy victory.

My heart breaks for you and all those in harm's way. I asked my son (USNA) to consider another college. I can't bear the thought that the people who now control his destiny think all military are stupid. He is far brighter than those who have now taken control of our government. He said "Mom, I am in service to our country, not the party in power". Those who disdain our troops should have to deal with the terrorists personally. They don't half an eighth the character that those who serve in the military have,

I'm no Bush worshipper, either, but when you have a vocal group of folks that admit to either voting Dem or deliberately abstaining so that the Dems would win in an effort to get the R's out of power to show the politicians how much power they have, I see nothing wrong with reminding them of the people they screwed in the process. Folks (troops) that are a hellovalot more important than any D or R in Congress.

I'd love to teach the RINO's a lesson, too...but I wasn't willing to screw the troops in the process. There's other ways to get your point across. Communication, funding, rallying, etc.

Sorry, I am not really interesting in hearing anymore excuse or rationalizations or self serving attempts to rewrite history from the Dinocons anymore. They can wander off to the Tarpits. History has passed them all by. Their day is done.

The Support the Troops people told them and told them and told them about Iraq. Sandrat posted dozens of stories EVERY day here for everyone with an open mind to read and learn, but the Dinocons decided it was more fun to play political game cause they really hated the President and the Christian Conservative more then they hated the Democrats.

After all the Democrats were part of the DC Old Boys Club! Some time you win, some time they win but it is the trill of the game not actually getting thing done you all loved.

And then that bastard Bush was upsetting your cozy DC game! Making you actually do stuff and take chances and run risk. HOW dare he! That was not the game! And he such a lousy speaker. Such a dull boy. Goes to bed at 9? No parties? No clever glib speech's? Plus his DAD. Man we hate his dad. How dare he think he runs DC. WE run DC not these hicks from Texas he got following him around. And what is with all this talk about Minorities. How dare he bring outsiders into our cozy little world. WE know best. We always KNOW best here in DC.

And all the Dincons on the Net? Well they just KNEW they were all way smarter then us. We were just koolaid drinkers, cheerleaders, hicks, Bushbots.

Fine, action have consequences. You played the Democrats PR game cause you hated Bush. Go join your heros in celebrating your win Tuesday

The Dinocons all spend way too much time shooting their own people rather then ever shoot at the Democrats. We would be FAR better off without our Dinocon 5th column. All they do is give political credibility to the Democrats by echoing their talking points as facts.

Do you remember what Clinton actually did to our military while in office?

Yeah - but thankfully we were able to completely rebuild it in the 9 months after President Bush took office so that when it came time to use it in Afghanistan, it was capable of undertaking the mission.

Oh damn. There I go being sarcastic again.

The heart and soul of the military is apolitical. Individuals have their opinions and party affiliations, but professionalism trumps political partisanship.

Yes, you left.

And the military went right on doing what it does without you (and me, btw), didn't they?

Imagine that.

Not this time. Not again. Not on our watch.

AMEN.

Aaron and all your brothers in arms, we will not abandon you. We know better this time, and we will continue to fight for you as you fight for us. God bless.

Our brave men and women have every right to be worried and depressed. I just read on the Free Republic site a story from the AP the title of which is " McGovern to meet with congress on War". For those who don't remember, who George McGovern is, he said when he was running against Richard Nixon in 1972 that he would gladly go to North Viet Nam and get down on his knees to end the Viet Nam war. Aron has every right to be afraid as well as the Iraqi's who are also fighting for their freedom and I don't blame Aron for the way he feels. I am so totally disgusted with the American people right now that I can hardly see straight. I do know that we in America will pay a very heavy price for our foolishness in letting the Democrats take control of Congress again.

I hope everyone in FR remembers this when they are in their comfy homes and start to turn on the cable news. We have got to boycott them! Not even a peek at the headlines, no matter how curious we are. Take them all off your remote, even Fox!

Since you're not Aaron and, if you are military and have been deployed in OIF or OEF, you may have received a care package or a letter from me. If that, in your view, is BS then so be it.

I have to wonder why you get so snarky when I simply want to clarify the source of the article, and state my point of view.

I am still stunned by the results of the election and, yes, more concerned for our troops. I've been voting Republican since 1996, not that long, I guess. So I apologize for having voted the wrong way before that; it didn't occur to me then how it affected our troops. Now I keep that in mind.

I support our troops and their mission, but I don't kiss their butts. Aaron's insults to the American people are distasteful to me. I, for one, did not crap on him.

I've read. There is little that can be said except I believe there was widespread fraud in this voting. The rats made a lot of noise about it before their tactics worked. There are no doubt many idiots amongst us. That is the core by which the evil screwed again the best. We'll work on this or die away but as in war where the best fall first, the rats have insured it will hit them eventually.
Your hands are clean my Comrades, my friends and saviors. GOD almighty likes a fighter for truth and not a weasle.

This makes me sick.

Oh how we as a nation have let our troops down.

I know he and others are frustrated with America...but I can only hope that at some point they realize that there are many people who support, respect and believe in them.
