Thoughts on the Election Results from a Soldier in Iraq
Rusty Humphries Show ^ | 11/09/06 | cp124

I know you probably get a lot of messages asking you to read stuff on your show, but I BEG you to read this...... I would like you to tell America exactly what they did to their soldiers on Tuesday, and what WE think about our countrymen right now.

"I hope you are satisfied with what you have done...

Today in the mess hall, where there is usually jovial conversation, there was silence, long faces, and broken spirits... Everyone, to include all American soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen, Iraqi Nationals, Bulgarian Soldiers, etc, etc... was speechless, tired, demoralized and stunned.... all ate in erie silence.....

Last night, while we watched the press conference with the President, there was utter discust, and the common feeling amongst us all that we soldiers are now the loneliest people on Earth.... we fight an enemy over here, and we have a country full of enemies to go home to that are our countrymen. We watched President Bush say his own political funeral, our commander and chief.. as well as ours..... He tried so hard to spin it, but... well.. there is no way to soften such a morale blow.

While you sit and Monday morning quarterback what we work so hard to do for you out here, just know that the spirit of your team is wounded..... YOU liberals, you America have done a great job of demoralizing us... Thank you.

Do us a favor though, when we do come home, spare us the ceremony....... We all now know that it is a bunch of crap, and what you think of us.......

I have to say that right now, I would rather be a pussy ass Frenchman, even though they have no will to fight, at least they have the balls to make a decision and stick with it...... They stuck to thier guns about staying out of this war, even if it was the wrong decision......America on the other hand, goes off half cocked, and when the decision appears to be a hard one, or something that might cost a little bit, they turn tail and run.....

WHAT A NATION OF PUSSIES!!!!

This week I am NOT proud to say that I am an American..........I think it is obvious why... See, we just have told the world that we are not a nation of people who are tough, and will fight for what we believe in... We have told the world that we are a giant coward that will shy away from any difficult challenge...

So, while you eat your cheetos, and sit there and watch your lazy ass get fatter, dumber and happier Joe Citizen.. Just remember this, I, and all my commrades payed a dear price to come this far and have you decide that we should fail...

Realize this, because of your action this week America.... do not expect so many men to be so willing to stand up for your next little whim just to be cut down in the middle of it all............

Realize this also.. you have just put a heavy price on the heads of us all...... Now that we are branded as cowards, we are an easy target, oh so inviting for the taking....... I swore to protect your children in your beds.... yet you fling the door wide open inspite of me to invite the scourge.... Well.... have it your way then.

Because of this, September 11th will soon be overshadowed by these same enemies.. my advice to you is get your lazy, self centered ass up and make peace with your God, and your family.. cause, time will come when they may not be there for you................Because you kicked me in the teeth, and so many others, I know I won't any more.. "

Aaron.

I heard a couple of soldiers on talk radio on the way home from work about a half hour ago basically say the same thing. I had to pull over to the side of the road and take a few deep breaths for a few moments.

Because too many people were so busy using this election as a stupid political chess game that we forgot about the human cost.

My lord, we let our men and women in uniform over there down.

I don't disagree with anything in your post. But the fact is, there were an actually significant percentage of so called "conservatives" who very publicly and proudly sat this election out to "teach" the GOP a lesson. That makes them as bad (or in my mind even worse) than the stupid people in this country who actually swallowed the media spin and voted democrat.

Worth your time and thought...

Indeed! But I also met a Sailor today at a Veterans Day observance (Pre-holiday) who was just back from Afghanistan. He was stationed some place I'd never heard of "Wardack," or something like that, and he was assigned to a Guard brigade (we're doing that to Navy and Air Force types now) that was helping the 10th Mountain Div. He told me that they got hit regularly with RPGs (kind of reminded me of Khe San stories) and that the people there hated us. He said that the children threw rocks at him when he went out to the trucks (he's a cook, CS2) to get supplies. The soldiers there have little access to e-mail, television, and can make a phone call back to loved ones only about every other month. Letters are sporatic.
I asked him if he ever wanted to go back...his answer was a typical Sailor emphatic "NO" that included a vulgar adjective at the beginning. BTW, he told me he voted for Bush absentee.

I support the Troops and the Iraqi people who voted for a hope and a future. I am damn proud of them all.

I am ashamed of the media and the Demorats. We lost 2,700 intrepid Troops in 4 years. We lost almost half a million in four years of WWII. 2,700 Marines and Sailors lost their life in the first 2 and a half days of fighting on Iwo Jima. I went to Gettysburg this summer. I stood on ground that soaked the blood of 2,500 NY Calvary in one day. They told us we would lose 10,00 going to Baghdad.

I think our brave young men and women have done a great job for being in the heart of a land that hates us and burns our flag. I am proud of them. I think our media and the Demorats owe our Troops an apology.

Our Troops should remain proud of what they are doing. I know I am.

As a Viet Nam veteran I understand his comments. Take heart! I'm not worried. It is still true that...God is on His throne and prayer changes things. God can and does use pagans to accomplish His purposes. Watch and see.....the next 2 years are going to be pivotal in history.

There is something we can do, two things.

1. Keep strong and vocal support for the troops and what they are doing
2. We are now the guard here against the dems and moderate repubs to stop them from decimating the Military with budget cuts, and such, because that will be their method of stopping the battle.

If they can leave their families to fight for us, then the least we can do is have the same stength and implacable will that was shown in order to stop the Miers nomination. We need to keep a 24hr a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year eye on congress and the liberal military brass, and we need to scream loud and long to stop any bill that is designed to hurt our troops in any way! There are millions of us so there's no excuse not to do it. We are now the political HomeGuard for our Military.

I refuse to allow what was done to my brother in 'Nam to be done to our Proud and Strong Military in Iraq!

Do you actually know anybody who is truly conservative who was dumb enough to "sit out" this election? I am very disappointed in the Bush administration and the Rep. leadership, but I voted for them anyway, rather than see anything like this happen. I find it hard to believe that "conservatives" stayed home. I think it was the dumb, lazy, uninformed, fickle, "independent" voters, who get their ideas from the media, who provided the votes for the Demons. Most of all, it was a comparative handful of treacherous bastards in the media who pulled this coup off. The same traitors who printed leaks about CIA prisons, Abu Ghraib, and the like.

I understand how you feel because thats the way we feel. We spread your message as far and wide as we could. You and your comrades were the first reason we gave to the folks when we asked them to vote Republican. Believe me Aaron, I am as disgusted with some of my fellow Americans as you are. My husband and I and all of our immediate family voted straight Republican. My husband is a VietNam vet. He is very concerned about whats going on in American politics. We are going to win back the house and senate for you guys in 08!

President Bush has been demoralized by constant pounding from the left and the media. He seems to be in a state of shock. I don't think he thought this could happen. I hope he snaps out of it soon cause he still has a country to run. He can get alot done before January when the traitors take office.

God bless you, Aaron. We love and appreciate you so much!

The troops should come home now, our young heroes should only fight when they are allowed to win. To fight so that you can withdraw at a date certain is not winning.

Don't fret none. I know we lost this battle and from being from a long line of family combat veterans and also a veteran of Desert Storm, I know my family won't let the Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, and Airman down. I still remember the day my Father returned from Viet Nam and it was not a pleasant site to see and I will be fit to be tied to see this happen again. Keep the faith knowing that you all are in our prayers and we will win this war.

"Do you actually know anybody who is truly conservative who was dumb enough to "sit out" this election?"

There are several on this site who have made it a point to brag about their (lack of) effort. There have been threads all day long from "conservatives" bragging about sitting out the election. Plenty did. And they are proud of it. And for some incredible reason, they think by doing so they earned the right "to be listened to". They earned nothing. And this country will pay for their actions.

I went out and voted, yet I feel so sad reading this.

I'm sorry that some self-absorbed "conservatives" were more worried about themselves than our finest and bravest.

Take heart Aaron. Most Americans remain pro-military and want to win in Iraq. That snob idiot Jon Carry found that out real quick. But many Americans are also disillusioned by what seems to be a go no where war, thanks largely to the scum in the MSM and failure by the administration to counter them.

The election wasn't a vote pro- or anti-military, or the mission in Iraq. It wasn't even so much pro-Democrat as it was anti-Republican. I think it was also a sign of frustration with Bush's leadership. He doesn't project strength very well. But I'll tell you this, if the Democrats think they can sabotage your efforts and discard the sacrafices that have made in Iraq, 2008 will likely be their last year as a political party.

The Republicans also know they have to get back on the conservative track. They also have to grow some balls and not wimp out every time some lame-brain liberal calls them a name. It will be their greatest challenge if they want to win in 2008.

Our prayers are with you. God bless you and all of our troops. Keep the faith.

I don't even know what to say. From those of us that support our troops, honor their sacrifices and their mission, we owe Aaron and everyone in our military a debt of gratitude. We also owe them an apology, on behalf of those who are too foolish, insecure, or psychologically unsound to support the people who give so much to keep us all free. The misinformed public, and the idiots in the liberal camp, will reap what they sow.

I just had a brainstorm! Remember after the 2004 election, the liberal moonbats started that "I'm sorry" website where they apologized to the world for Bush getting elected? Why don't we start a website apologizing to our troops? I don't know how to do it or I would. Would everyone think about this and someone come up with a plan? If it costs money, I will donate. Anyone?

I read that early/absentee voting by miliary personnel favored Webb over Allen, in Virginia.

This is over the top. It's one thing to say that the Americans who voted for Democrats are mistaken (they are). But cursing them as pussies shows a lack of respect for one's fellow countrymen. Anti-Americanism is never justified, regardless of where on the political spectrum the America-trasher stands.

Wow. You really think this guy cares if you respect him? I just wish the Dems would have run on the messages that they were screaming from the rooftops for the past two years. You may not view those who have constantly called for immediate withdrawal as Anti-American, but after what happened in Vietnam and now being on the verge of it happening again, I do.
