THIS WILL BE INTERESTING [Byron York] From a White House press release:

Excellent. Bush needs to get tough and govern as if he has the majority.
Make that quadruplets...
He can be recess appointed again.
The good thing with this nomination now is the Pubbies have nothing to lose.. there is no reason not to invoke the nuclear option anymore.
Good. Serve the ball in their court and MAKE THEM OBSTRUCT. He's got one more chance to get Bolton through, nothing to be lost by going for it.
Suck it down, Plugs. Game on, indeed.

The Senate will approve if the nomination is voted upon before January.
He can be recess appointed again. (and again and again)
If you cant get things done with your own side, you have no alternative than to work with the other side.
Yes, thats real sound, ethical politics right there. NOT! You stay loyal to the party and the voters!
Nobody disliked the SS debacle more than I, but I would never play this game.
BTW, how that "working with the other side going to get us SS reform, PD? You know that ain't happening
In fact, the only thing that will be happening will be to push "immigration reform" right up the old afterburner and you know it.
I do not believe that any deal has been cut, any more than I believe in the grassy knoll, and you have Zero evidence to substantiate it.
not following your logic -- suppose we are in the minority in the Senate in 2009 with a RAT president; you want the nuclear option at RAT disposal for their judges?
I think not, thank you very much.
How. How get around a filibuster?
We're talking about Senate "Republicans", so methinks you know the answer. They'll bend over again (a feat possible only because they have no spine).
I don't see how this flies. Will Linc Chaffee relinquish the "hold" he's put on the nomination? And even if he does will the macacas be feeling their oats and filibuster? The world wonders.
DesWine is still a Senator for a couple of months.
Don't you mean Minority "Leader" Trent Cave-A-Lott?
No, I don't think Bush is double dealing here.
I think this is BRILLIANT Bush! The democrats have spent the last 48 hours blabbing about "working together", now let's see if they meant it.
I like what someone else said... if they obstruct just recess appt him again.
They'll do it anyway regardless of whether we do it first.
Chaffee should not be afforded the Senatorial privilege of placing a "hold" at this late stage of the game. Gack, I hate senatorial privilege.
Frist needs to grow a pair and step up to the plate swinging the nuclear option. Nothing to lose, now.
