I knew what I was getting when I voted for Bush and I can see nothing in his policies that contradict what he ran on.

Anybody who paid attention knew what he stood for; the one thing most people didn't realize was that he is a man who DOES what he says.

The problems a lot of people around here have with him is that project what THEY want onto him, even when he never made statements indicating he'd agree with every thought that passes through an "real" conservatives mind.

The most important thing he had was his integrity.

Absolutely. And he still has it.

The Dems have hammered on that public perception for six years. Finally it stuck. I cannot remember very many Republicans coming forward to defend his honor. He was too much of a (whatever) to do it himself. Shame on the Republicans on TV, the Republicans in Congress. They basically have stood by for six years while a good man was dragged through the mud.

Amen.

And you and I both know that the people here trashing Bush this week never supported him in the first place; most of them are Patsies and moles from StormFront trying to take control of this party because they've never been able to elect a dog catcher; and they're mad at US because we won't march in lockstep with them.

And what does TPTP mean???

Let's see how Bob Casey Jr. votes as well on measures regarding abortion and embryonic stem cells. I am fairly certain they would be exposed as liars and hypocrites.

To those who voted for Casey, they could care less about his stance on abortion/ESC. They just "liked his dad." Anyone who voted Casey for pro-life issues over Santorum is kidding themselves.

"Maybe Charlie Rangel will finally get his draft. :-)"

Charlie sees Vietnams everywhere. I honestly believe the Dem leadership is having flashbacks.

Dems are poising to confiscate the Bush Team's victories for themselves over the next two years, and through assistance with their willing help in the MSM. America's got to be troubled, miserable, in order for the MSM to make big bucks off of commercials and ratings.

Bush Economics don't work well for them, financially. Democrat policies are better, for the "40 pieces of silver" MSM.

You missed it. I almost missed it, too. It was on C-Span, but it lasted less than 5 minutes. C-Span never posts it to let you know when something like this will happen. They let you figure it out. It's frustrating.

"This way, maybe everybody will see the true colors of the democrats and vote republican in the presidential election."

If the Demons are smart (and some are, like the Clintons) they will not push radical legislation, but will continue with their proven strategy of getting the judiciary to accomplish their agenda. That's the real tragedy of this election: no more originalist judges.

But that's the statement they ended up making.

You can translate the election results however ou want, but that doesn't make it true. The liberals don't need us to help them carry their water...

I don't think the statement's been made yet... he seems to be running late. However, I could be wrong because I wasn't here for the whole thread - only skimmed through looking for anything.

Thanks....

Yes, even yours! Even if we don't agree on policy, you do have a tendancy to bring "the other side" into the discussion and snap MOST of us back into reality!

This election was analogous to Reagan's second midterm when we lost all the close Senate races (eight of them, in fact), losing the Senate majority from 53-47 to the short end of 45-55.

However, we gained in the 1988 presidential elections, essentially winning a third Reagan term (41 squandered the mandate) and made gains in both the House and Senate.

Hillary's presidential ambitions were not helped by the 2006 elections; they were hindered.

FNC must be having alerts every hour over the past couple of days. I haven't watched since the first 2 hours of election night. I am truly turned off to the media and have no desire to watch or listen to any of it. I promised myself I would find better things to do with my down time. I am sick of the MSM's BS games. My husband is pretty happy because he has the remote back.
