Prayers requested for the family of Raymond O'Donnell, my Father-in-Law, who passed away November 7, 2006 in Plant City, Florida.
He was a World War II combat veteran, one of our finest generation, that made possible the freedoms that we all enjoy today.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Angeline, his sons, Terry and Denny O'Donnell, and his daughter, Sherry Lee, my wife, also known on Free Republic as 'Mata-Sherry', and about 10 to 12 grandchildren (I don't know the total).
Brief Services have been held per his last wishes, and a Memorial Service will be held for him in January, 2007, in Plant City.

What more can a man or woman ask than to enjoy the love and well-earned respect and love of the family he or she leaves behind? Thank you, Gonzo, for sharing Ray's heroic life with us. From your posting, I am certain that memories of this courageous man fill all your hearts even as you mourn his loss.
My condolences and warm regards . . . Penny

Thank you for the alert Jim. Another one of the "Greatest Generation" answers the "Last Taps". I private replied to Gonzo. I will more than likely be facing the same situation as my father WWII, Korea, and RVN, with CIB and two stars is in poor health and more than likely answer that same trumpet call in the not so distant future.

If you ever go to Luxembourg you should visit this museum. The WWII museum in New Orleans is GREAT, too! You really appreciate what our brave soldiers suffered through.
