Bush eyes Democrats for help on amnesty
The Washington Times ^ | November 9, 2006 | Stephen Dinan

President Bush yesterday said he will team up with Democrats to pass an immigration bill with a guest-worker program that his own party blocked this year, and his Republican opponents predicted a bloody intraparty fight but said they cannot stop such a bill from passing.

"We will fight it, we will lose. It will go to the Senate, it will pass. The president will sign it. And it will happen quickly because that's one thing they know they can pass," said Rep. Tom Tancredo, Colorado Republican and chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus, who had led the opposition to a guest-worker plan. "I am absolutely horrified by this prospect, but I have to face reality."

Mr. Bush supported a bipartisan majority in the Senate this year that passed a broad immigration bill including a new worker program and citizenship rights for millions of illegal aliens. But House Republicans blocked those efforts, calling them an amnesty, and instead forced through a bill to erect nearly 700 miles of fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border.

I just saw Bush and Calderone on TV. Calderone wants the U.S. to fund education in Mexico and not build a fence.

Calderone and the PAN leftests are the worst possible choices to run Mexico at this time. It looks like the little twit is asking for help in Oaxaca according to a spokes person named Lopez.

Consider this 2010 quote from George P. Bush: "Although my family has been associated with the Republican Party in the past, I feel it is time for a change. Today I am announcing my run for the presidency as a Democrat".

And I would support whatever investigation the Dems want to do on Bush and his admin. if amnesty passes. If this comes to pass, I wouldn't mind if he did a perp walk.

I am with you. Backing Bush has led directly to a Democratic majority, one that will provide open borders, instant amnesty and fast track citizenship. All this so that the Dems can import a constituency so as to gain permanent power. If Bush signs a Dem amnesty bill he can be tossed to the dogs for all I care.

"If Bush signs off on Amnesty I will support his impeachment whole heartedly."

He'll sign it. He'll also push for a new "comprehensive" ban on all semi-auto rifles.

It did not resonate because most voters do not deal with the misery of illegals...at least not yet.

Bush has no clue what a world of hurt is coming his way.
And he thought last Tuesday was a bad day.

Make no mistake about it. More than anyone GW Bush is responsible for what happened in this election. He is arogant to the core...And he will remain so even now.

I do not presume to understand W's motives in this. He has appeared to be too smart for such nonsense, but then there are certain signs of shortsightedness in his policies. His allowing us to get bogged down in a hearts-and-minds operation shows that he is quite blinkered as to the nature of our enemy and the patience of Americans when being constantly hounded by the inevitable pack of Liberal chihuahuas. I think the problem is that W is a Bush. His father, a very intelligent man, astute in business, showed a vast lack of understanding as to what politics is all about. He never understood that his actions and the actions of congress have real effects on real people.

Yes, our president will have a truely historic opportunity to either stand up for America..............

or to sell out..................

It will define his, and the republican party's true legacy.

"Senator Byrd stopped Bush's amnesty a few years ago.

He sure did, and God bless him for doing so.

Calderone wants the U.S. to fund education in Mexico and not build a fence.

We're already "educating" half of their population already, now they want more. Mexico is a parasite eating away on America.

If Bush falls for that deal, his place in the ladder of presidential history will be cemented down at the bottom for all time.

If anybody starts up amnesty talk again, we should be ready with recall and impeachment proceedings. We better get our ducks in a row fast, too!

Bush knows what he is doing. He can't wait for a chance at amnesty. Our children and grandchildren are being sold down the river as slaves to pay for this shamnesty.

The Democrat party will be for amnesty and so will half of the Republican party. We now are being governed by one party. The Dims don't want Dick Cheney as pres. It won't happen. Even old Arnold S. wants amnesty. Depressing, isn't it?

The Republicans could not get anything done with the majority now I seriously doubt that the Democrats will be able to get anything done either. Our turn to obstruct.

Exactly and the best post I've read. Frist and the GOP couldn't get the House bill passed thanks to Reid and the obstructionist democrats. Now it's time for conservatives in the Senate to play the same game.

Thhe Democrats are more likely to vote for amnesty-house Republicans were the only thing stopping it. I see no correlation between this issue and the Republican loss-except for depressing the base maybe. All exit polls indicated Iraq was the problem. Also, now we live under Dem rule. Do you think that our borders will be closed? really?
