INDIANAPOLIS -- All of the votes cast in Marion County still had not been counted as of early Wednesday afternoon because some voting machines had not been turned in to election headquarters.
The county's Democratic Party attacked County Clerk Doris Anne Sadler for what they called her mismanagement of Tuesday's election, 6News' Derrik Thomas reported.
Democrat Chairman Ed Treacy compared the county's election troubles with what used to happen in Soviet bloc countries.
Sixty-six regular voting machines were not returned to election headquarters as of noon Wednesday, and none of the electronic voting machines was returned, Thomas reported.
The outcome of the state House District 97 race and three township races hinged on the missing election data.

Hadn't heard about that. He should have at least waited for the overseas absentees to come in. Same thing for Jennings in FL-13, BTW. While a concession is not legally binding (ask Gore), it will be awkward to say the least if the absentees and provisionals make these races so close that a recount is required.
"All true, but allowing rats to take over is nevertheless a giant step backward. Punishing GOP congressmen and senators was cutting off our noses to spite our faces."
I agree. The proper way to punish GOP congressmen and senators was during the primary, not the General election. One other thing. We must stop voting in the primaries based on someone's presumption that the person we would really like to see in office can not win in the general election. I think this election and some previous elections proved that we believe too much in polls and analysis based on polls. We need to vote in the primary based only on principle. If we do that, the general elections will take care of themselves and the politicians that need to have a message sent to them.
One problem with your analyis of Pryce is that you assume that all of the provisional ballots are valid. The second problem is that you assume the half that are absentee ballots will have a Dem bias. I suspect the opposite is true, and it seems to be borne out by looking at the individual precincts. Provisional ballots will have a Dem bias, but again I don't see that much a pattern suggesting they are bunched precincts. I think Kilroy has no more than a 5% chance of winning. We shall see.
The only seat really up in the air IMO is Simmons.
Waterford killed him. He only netted 60 votes as opposed to almost 2000 in 2004. When he concedes the night of the long knives will be over for me. Some day I'll tell you why his vote count went down in Waterford and Groton.
Are you suggesting there are no provisional or absentee or military ballots left to count?
There are some. But I don't think he can make up the deficit unless somebody did their math wrong. But then again, I've become rather more pessimistic since Tuesday.
It is only 150 votes to make up. Do not absentees have a GOP lean, or is Connecticut odd? How about military ballots? Isn't there a military presence in the district?
I pinged you on a medical abortion question by the way. I look forward to your input.
Where?
The only that is showing is your willingness to swallow whatever scraps your politicians see fit to throw you.
I think SOS has certified the election. I assume that means that all votes have been counted but I don't know becuase the reporting is vague.
Non existent from what I can tell. AP has not called it in any event.
Automatic recount kicked in and Simmons has not conceded nor will he until the recount has been completed. That much I know for sure because I got it from the horses mouth.
The recount won't change much, but uncounted ballots might, if there are any.
Lord help us, theist and near atheist alike.
nothing will be done. Allen likely lost his senate seat to fraud - the message from the RNC to him was - concede.
go take a look at the live thread on the Allen race - he's winning with 99.1% of precincts reporting, then POOF - he's down.
Tell me what you think about Kennedy when you get a chance.
