Retaking the US Senate in 2008
11-9-2006 | self

Posted on 11/08/2006 9:15:35 PM PST by staytrue

All we have to do to retake the senate is to win 2 of these 12 seats.

Arkansas: Pryor (D) Delaware: Biden (D) Illinois: Durbin (D) Iowa: Harkin (D) Louisiana: Landrieu (D) Massachusetts: Kerry (D) Michigan: Levin (D) Montana: Baucus (D) New Jersey: Lautenberg (D) Rhode Island: Reed (D) South Dakota: Johnson (D) West Virginia: Rockefeller (D)

It looks like we could have a shot at Pryor, Harkin, Baucus, and Johnson.

AND THEN ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS HOLD ALL 21 OF OUR OWN SEATS THAT ARE UP.

I thought she (Suzy) was great too - the guy before her (forget his name now) was also really good but got smeared and slimed by Landrieu's LA machine.

Well, it doesn't look good, but it's not impossible.

We could knock off Pryor and Johnson.

We can take the Senate sooner. Let's engage in the same type of witchhunt that the Democrats and their co-horts in the media engaged in, only difference is we will find REAL crimes committed while in office.

A vacancy doesn't have to come on election day. Pelosi wants to "end corruption"? We'll help.

A two-step process, perhaps? Get the House back in '08 and the Senate in '10.

We've got to take this party back from the RINOs

RIGHT ON BROTHER. RIGHT ON.

IN 2008, we need to get rid of Lindsey Graham, Susan Collins, Warner, Lamar Alexander, Libby Dole, Smith from Oregon, that bridge to nowhere Stevens guy, Chuck Hagel, and Sununu, Domenici and McConnell can take a hike too.

Of those, only 4 have any chance of being taken out, and none are inherently in danger, like a Stabenow or that moron from Washington. If there are 12 Dems up, that means there are 21 pubbies up. How many of them are shaky?

Remember a couple facts:

This year, the Dems DID hold all their seats -

-and-

Beat a couple of our guys that they would have had NO IDEA they would have been able to beat two short years ago (Allen, Santorum)

If they can do it, we can.

This, of course, presumes that our nation will survive that long. Given the encouragement the Democrats' victory gives to terrorists, and that party's unwillingness to oppose them, I wouldn't consider 2008 elections taking place to be a given.

Republicans need some energy to pick up the base again. What would do it?

True Conservatives with guts.

GOT ANY OF THESE AROUND?

How about Romney for Pres and Jeb for VP?

I seriously doubt anyone wants to nominate another Bush for President of Vice President till at least 2016.

I see you're taking the wrong lesson from this. As I've said before, please, go ahead and blame us for something that is really the fault of the RINOs, steer the party to the Left, ignore the conservative base and see where it gets our Party.

The real conservative base of the party has finally come to realize that not all who call themselves Republicans are our friends. We will take back the party from the RINOs and so-called moderates.

It does help that someone of Limbaugh's stature agrees that conservatism did not lose yesterday. He was right today when he said that Bush is not a conservative. Millions of supporters will make the task of reforming the GOP that much easier.

What are the prospects of America electing a communist (Hillary) with control of the Senate and House. I really don't think Americans will like that idea too much. If that happens, put the final nail in America's coffin

therein lies the key to coming back - in two years, "xxx promised to get to business ..." and then ridicule with all the stupid things the libs will inevitably be moving on that will put bridge to nowhere to shame.

Remember next time.......

The liberal media fed conservatives their own displeasure. The democrats sat back and watched us self destruct.
They didn't have to promise the voters anything.

The conservative base was out and voted...unlike those who claim to have taught the GOP a lesson.

Allen, Talent, Santorum and Burns went left? Bush took some positions that went against the base - immigration most notably, but was stopped. the same base that talks about immigration - helped toss out the most conservative body, the House, who were the only ones stopping it.

I'm sure they will be happier with the Pelosi House.
