Uh, wrong. Nice try though at blaming the base. Conservatives who lost were running against Democrats who were portraying themselves as conservatives. Way more RINOs lost in Congress than just Chaffee. Conservatism did not lose in this election.
I understand that you are in deep depression so I will give you a pass at spinning my words. However, I was referring to the Senate. I did not have the House in mind when I made my intellectual statement. I don't blame anyone for the loss yesterday. That would not be very constructive. I believe that we need to lift our spirits and start to get to work for 2008. Feeling sorry for ourselves, getting pissed, or placing blame is not going to change anything.

Exactly.
It's been disappointing for me to read so much disrespect for our President today. At one time, blaming Bush was the satire joke on a thread because that's what the left does. Some people did just that on this forum today and meant it. It made the day much worse.
I agree with your thoughts with regards to Rudy Giuliani. His record is outstanding. I hope people read his record and what he has accomplished as Attorney General and Mayor of NY before they rule him out. Like you said, he was there on 9/11. Giuliani will never forget. He would kick terrorists A**. I think he would win the election. They dump on him and we will loose a Presidential Election to rats. That will be a serious, scary mistake.

It was idiotic of them. It's what I was saying for forever, and I'm a medication-addled windbag.

You freaks are not reading threads. I am ignoring your ignorant statements until you read the entire thread and find out what I said and what I did not say. I was answering somebody else so MYOB unless I reply directly to you.
To: napscoordinator
I did specifically say Congress in the post to which you were replying, thus my reaction. Thank you for the clarification.

I will miss Rumsfeld, a lot.
I will too. He reminded me of my Grandfather and I think he was putting his entire being into making sure that Iraq was a success.

Oh, there's about to be mighty SERIOUS change in Washington and since you are looking forward to it so, go post on DU!

Blacks would have voted against gay marriage but for Webb.

The only source I've heard calling the race for Webb is the AP (other than just opinions). Are their any more legitimate sources? Are the counts done now? They were still counting 5% of the precincts tonight at 7:30 EST.

I'm a registered Dem. In PA, it was all about Bush. They even gave me literature with his picture on it outside the poll. The Dems made it a national vote against Bush.

I listened to it too, but did not get a definite feeling on how he'll vote. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he switched his vote from Stenberg though. Here's an analysis that suggests he might vote to strike down the ban: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1735104/posts

They were still counting Allen/Webb votes at 7:30 PM EST today. They had 5% left. Do you know the final count? Has any other source called it?
To: Rezod21
Lieberman said he would vot with the Dems, and Sanders will obviously. You are right in principle though.

I should add: While I didn't get a really strong feeling one way or the other, some of his questions about the lack of a health exception and its effect on women in emergencies made me think he might have thought twice about his position in Stenberg. Of course, he could have been playing devil's advocate, but there's no real way to know. Here's to hoping he hasn't changed his mind and is still on the right side on this one.

He's a Republican, there will be no victory for a Republican in a recount. He's done. Toast. Out. Gone. Finished.

Lieberman said he would vot with the Dems,He said on the Hannity show he felt liberated. He also said he won't forget who was with him and who was against him. He's going to vote his conscience. He's in debt to no one.
To: concerned about politics
It's been on FOX all evening. The count is done; Webb is the winner.
