I remember after '02 he was the great "moderate" black hope. And last night, he was practically the only one on the Dems side to lose to a Republican.

Problem is, if the Democrats are going to run as conservatives full time now and legislate as liberals, how will the GOP deal with that? Voters don't seem to mind picking "so called" conservatives as Democrats, or conservative Republicans. So how is that dealt with?

WILL the RNC be shook up now and run by firm conservatives FINALLY? Will they quit propping up RINOS? Will they run as conservatives and be done with it??? For years, the secular and RINO parts of the GOP had their way and pretended that the real conservative and Christian groups were not critically important. And this is what we get. Secular and RINO GOP called the shot of this election and the Congress was LOST. So who do we replace and with whom to make this right???

In Santorum's case, a lot of the problem came from stubborn conservatives who were angry at him over the Toomey/Specter flap. They didn't vote for him out of "principle."

its nonsense. this implies there is a voting block out there, "stupid conservative leaning independents" - who don't understand the the national Dem party they were voting to empower, are hard core leftists.

I know plenty of such people. Voted for the conservative sounding democrat, not really caring that the rest of them were moonbats. These people dont think the two things are related, they dont understand the politics of parties. Typical of that mushy middle.

Conservatives need to see this as an opportunity, NOT a disaster.

I tend to look at this election as a loss for my country, not for my party.

Higher taxes, pullout in Iraq, citizenship for illegals, The Fairness Doctrine, a weakened military, etc, etc, etc.... the level of utter lunacy practiced by liberal democrats AFFECTS OUR NATION.

Rush is speaking about the fact that liberalism lost because there were many democrats that run on conservative issues. Does anyone really believe that the newly-elected democrats will behave in a conservative manner? Or is it more likely that, true to democrat form, THEY ALL LIED TO GET ELECTED?
