Chris Matthews Depressed Democrat Harold Ford Goes Down
NewsBusters.org ^ | Matthew Sheffield

Posted on 11/07/2006 11:27:14 PM PST by RatherBiased.com

At 12:33 ET, a very reluctant Chris Matthews gave an update on the Tennessee Senate race, unwilling to call the vote (even though it was complete) for Republican Bob Corker. He was overruled from the control room, but still was clearly disheartened that Tennesseans did not vote his way.

Even after being corrected, Matthews continued to express skepticism that the Republican had defeated his preferred fellow Democrat.

We just got word now that the count is complete now in Tennesee and we're not making any projections yet officially as NBC now but as you can see up on the board now [pauses as screen comes up showing Corker projection]

Well we are I guess right now. NBC is--we're projecting that Bob Corker has beated [sic] Harold Ford Jr. after a very, very courageous [voice trails off] It's an apparent winner rather than a projection.

That's right. We're going now on final count here. We've got all the votes counted and he's got the most of them right now. So that's not a projection, it's a statement of reporting.

Look at those numbers right now. Looks like a close one. We'll see as the evening projects, uh, further on, we'll be able to make a full projection later on.

This was my one small grain of comfort. Ford was dangerous. He is effectively defanged.

F### Chris Matthews, he is a second-rate talent and a first-rate Propagandist. Its one thing to disagree about solutions to problems or how to approach to issues. But to help one political party defeat another using innuendo, half-truths, obfuscations, lies of omission, misrepresentations of fact, and character assassination, you have crossed a line that separates serious journalists and commentators from political hacks.

Matthews, as well as most of the talking heads that appear in the tradional broadcast media are nothing but partisan political hacks. They really don't believe in America or the Democratic process enought to tell the truth.

What the leftist news media presents is closer to an infomercial than a newscast.

I guess that last minute stop at the "stars and bars" Little Rebel bar didn't swing him enough votes.

Or maybe voters woke up to just what sort of politician he was. Too bad America didn't take the threat of leadership by Bela Pelosi seriously.

Aside from this race, does this mean all diebold machines worked perfectly and there was no voter intimidation?

Not to fret. Ford will become the most frequent "guest" on his and other left wing shows. Of course, Obama will be there too.

The left media will do all it can to get their people face time on the tube and avoid that nasty complication of spending campaing money.

It might be the hight of the night for people outside of Tenn,. but for us that know the Ford machine it is a bittersweet victory for us that live here.

It blows my mind that so many could vote for this fool.

I am really disappointed in Tennesseans!!!!!
