This is not unusual...
Exactly right...it's going to be interesting watching Pelosi deal with the Blue Dogs and her Moonbat friends. And we must hope that the power starved Dim leadership see this election as their license to throw caution to the wind with respect to their pursuit of utopia.

When the Recession starts late in 2007 YOUR side is going to be blamed since YOU JUST TOOK OVER CONGRESS. Bush isnt on the ballot in 2008 fool YOUR people ARE.

Except it's not the Christians who want to behead everybody at DU, it's the Islamofascists. But they won't understand that until the steel is at their neck.

Conservatives need to see this as an opportunity, NOT a disaster. The Moderates ran our party and ran it on the rocks. OK, just like in 1976 and 1992 time for the Conservatives to take back their party.
To start with NEW Congress, NEW Leadership. Time for a hard charging no nonsense leadership in the US Senate and US House.
Time for the Republican Insurgency to teach the Democrats what a REAL quagmire looks like. They wanted it. They lied to the American people about their real agenda to get it. Let them enjoy their Phyrric victory in 2006.
They won most races by a few thousands votes. Let them go home in 2008 and try to defend their record of voting for Ms Nancy and Hillary Clinton's Big Socialist Agenda after running as Republican Lite in 2006.

Hell, I probably posted that. But clinton did not go in to Iraq and leave us there to die.
I support our troops - by bringing them home from that hell hole. What is Iraq going to do, get a row boat and come over here and attack us??

From requiring more and more information on you, etc, the last six years have seen a lot more intrusion in my life then the years prior to it.I'm gonna have to call bullspit on this one. Didn't happen. And if it was intrusion, it wasn't a result of Bush's "curtailing" of your personal freedoms or because of the Patriot Act. Filling out your address so that Blockbuster knows where to send the bill and giving Radio Shack your zip code are not valid examples of "intrusion into your life".
To: MNJohnnie
Exactly. The Dems are there on a razor-thin margin. They either govern as moderates, thereby ticking off the moonbat base, or they govern as moonbats, ticking off rational people who only put them there to protest the Iraq war, not because they love Democrats. The Dems will spend the next two years swinging back and forth between a rock and a hard place.
It's put up or shut up time, but something tells me they're not going to be able to do either one.

I've been up for 40 hours myself.... I said earlier we had elected a black senator from Virginia before I realized I had the state and the results wrong.

In this instance, symbols and media play matter more than actual statistics
That is very unfortunate, and I think that pulling out of Iraq prematurely will be a terrible mistake.
I tend to be optimistic, based on previous votes in both the house and senate (where they overwhelmingly voted against a time-table for withdrawal), I don't think we'll be leaving early. Again, trying to be an optimist!
