And I bet DU is just gleeful at the amount of in-fighting going on here.

So far that I have read, I have NOT seen us fallen down to the level of how the DU normally acts!

We are toooo proud to be on the same level as them!!

We are NOT counted out by ten. We just all need to get of the canvas floor and take the beating with civility. Name-calling is NEVER productive. God Bless America!!!

At least you openly admit how much you hate the conservative part of the base. The ones who steered the party around and made it the great party it is today. I have to give you credit for being so open about it.

Looking at it from the outside though, it's obvious that our two views of the party are so different as to make even compromise impossible. Only time will tell who is right, and if you are, I will admit that when the time comes.

Take your hippy-dippy anti-war mentality and stick it where the sun don't shine.

You need to do a "rain-check" on your comments to me.

You are posting nonsense to someone who cares, demonstrating you are a reason we lost!

Get a clue, don't be a fool.

Name-calling is NEVER productive.

This is true and I wish George Allen had learned this lesson a long time ago.

The best hope in stopping the Bush amnesty was a Republican victory in the House in 2006, but the Bushbots sunk it for us all and now with the Democrats running the show you are going to see an amnesty bill forwarded and Bush will sign it with a smile as a “great example of bipartisan leadership”.

Look for the ban on assault weapons to be reintroduced as well. Bush said he will sign that one if it reaches his desk and Tom Delay and the House Republicans committee members were the only ones keeping it off the agenda. Now they're gone.

Gosh, you really are dense, aren't you?

We ARE the conservative base; we're just not all as UNCOMPROMISING AND STRIDENT as some of you are.

The ones who steered the party around and made it the great party it is today.

Not your "wing" of the party.

Looking at it from the outside though, it's obvious that our two views of the party are so different as to make even compromise impossible.

You're exactly right because 90 percent of us in the GOP live in the real world and realize that politics is the art of the POSSIBLE and of COMPROMISE.

Those of you who are unyielding will never win anything on your own.

Excellent post, with far-sighted perspective. Thanks.

Oh, yes, blackmail, that's what you call that part of the political process, silly me.

I should have stuck to what I said before which is that you will not hear from me again, but when you accused me of talking behind backs, I felt I had to respond. I don't think my heart can take too much arguing at once.

No,I call saying REPEATEDLY "If I don't get 100 percent of everything I want, I won't vote for you."

You all do it every single election; and now the GOP realizes that you cannot be counted on in the long run.

Basically, you're political whores.

OK, LOL, I disagree with the message as I rather like Rove, but I have to admit, that was unexpected and funny. Thanks for the chuckle!

I just had a wonderful thought on another thread. With losing the senate, that means that Specter loses his gavel and so does McCain. :o)

This definitely weakens McCain before his presidential run.

Basically, you're political whores. Yeah, go ahead -- vote for RINOs. Vote for rats in elephant clothing. Keep doing it, and you can cheer for a government who is officially "Republican" but votes like Ted Kennedy. The only way to stop the party from shifting too far to the left is to punish them when they do, even if it's a temporary setback (and by God, this is just temporary; America is just too conservative for this to be a trend)

Great post and proves conclusively, that you have absolutely NO idea, whatsoever, what you're talking about.

I congratulate you on your delusional egotism, delusions of intelligence, and I especially salute you on your manacle insistence that I am just not up to your putting you in your place.

I shall look forward to your bizarre reply to this, since thus far, you get loonier with each succeeding post. ;^)

This thread clearly shows who on FR like nothing better than to destroy Republicans at the first opportunity.

(and by God, this is just temporary; America is just too conservative for this to be a trend)

Like I said, most of us live in the real world.

This country is not TOO conservative anymore; it hasn't been for years.

Just keep living in the past.
