What Republicans need to learn from tonight...
11/07/06 | Philistone

The most important thing that Republicans should learn from tonight is that America is a representative democracy.

This does NOT mean that your congress critter shares ALL your beliefs, or that he is a perfect human being, but rather that, in general, he votes the way you want him to.

It's like hiring a lawyer. You may despise his personal life and his principles, but what is important is that he WINS YOUR CASE.

Democraps could care less about the morals of their elected officials as long as they win.

Republicans could learn a lesson here...

The President said tonight thru his spokesman that the one thing the President is happy about now is that he will be able to get a "comprehensive immigration reform" (illegal alien amnesty) bill passed out of the Congress now that the Democrats will control the House, since the GOP led House has been blocking it.

I heard that on FOXNEWS earlier tonight, I believe it was right before Brit Hume signed off for the evening.

"Which is precisely my point that some here want to deny, that our enemy is the MSM/Hollywood/Academia, and until we destroy their influence, no Republican or Conservative will win, pass our issues, or even run with this hostile environment."

Their bias and influence should be obvious to conservatives.

The fact is that even *with* the Congress *and* the Presidency, the liberals had *more* power via the media and the courts.

The battle of the courts was front and center and we *almost* got a majority.... where will that be now?

Hopefully we won't have to hold our tongues about Bush's ultra-liberal side now that we've passed the last election of his tenure.

Yep. I think we are all disappointed. Our elected representatives have let us down over the last few years and the American public is more interested in Brittany Spears, Desperate Housewives and sports.

God sometimes gives us want we want. That is a scary thought.

"The bottom line is it is what it is. This isn't the '90s either. It's post 9/11 and the jihadis are coming."

Tell me about it ... why did we just vote for the party
that will make us more in danger, due to their incompetent views on the war on terror?

I've learned that Republicans like to send meaningless "messages" that will be forgotten in two weeks' time and Democrats like to win. And so they do.

How about running a campaign not about fear, but about the issues that Americans are looking to solve, illegal immigration, loss of rights, unrestricted trade agreements that have the power of treaties, the defacto merging of Mexico with the US through NAFTA, loss of local control, the list goes on and on. Instead their brillant campaign strategy was to pit party against party... since both parties are interchangeably corrupt and mock our liberties and right to a constitutional government, I guess it doesn't really matter which party wins, at this point.

Just kidding.

You went right over my head. What is the lesson they should learn?

There was no lesson.. That was convoluted rep-speak...
Fact is, republicans (not conservatives) screwed up big time and now they are paying..

Republicans are no better than the democrats they profess to despise if they sacrifice principle for party....
You will find many on this forum that will support the party no matter how far it strays from principle..

Hopefully, the real lesson to be learned will be that the republican party needs to return to it's conservative roots before the next election..

Smaller government..
Lower taxes.. Permanently lowered taxes..
Budget discipline..
Secure borders..
Upholding the Constitution & Bill of Rights..
Respecting the freedoms and rights of the american people..
Honesty and Morality in government..

This may be a good thing, however..
Dems will now be responsible for handling Iraq..
Dems will be held responsible for upcoming recession..
In fact, we can blame Dems for "everything" for the next 2 years..
After all, they wanted to be in charge..
Now they are..
So...
What they gonna do about it???

Not true, it does matter. But according to Rove, those issues don't matter. But what does matter is giving prescription drugs to seniors who did not want them so we could triangulate the Democrats.

As my lama has often said "sometimes the most compassionate thing you can do for someone is beat them severely." I feel that way about liberals and Islamo-Nazis.

The Republicans have done this to themselves. They could have easily won this by going hard on immigration, demanding a non-politically correct war in Iraq, making the tax cuts permanent, end the McCain Finegold law, etc...

But No they did not listen to who put them in office. Oh well....

Well, looking over FR tonight I read the same ol stuff, no new thinking or planning.

It's all waiting for Conservative saviors, as a soon as that savior shows he is a human being afterall, and the MSM destroys him, FR will throw him overboard.

How many decades have we been doing that?

And we do ZERO to effect the MSM, we have alot of power to destroy their reputations and their power.

Other than start threads touting their falling circulation figures, which mean nothing to their power to propagandize, they have a monopoly, from papers, to morning shows, to daytime talk show, to films, to the classroom, to nitetime "news".

I doubt it. He's a little old but he was a Marine. And a bar fighter. And an owner of bars. I'm 6'2" and I look up to him. Literally.

Not true, it does matter

The only way it could matter, is if it galvanizes America to save itself, citizens to save their rights and fight against the globalist Juggernaut that is the most corrupt federal government that America has ever known.

Neither side cares for individual right or constitutional government. We are on the fast track to socialist serfdom as the former citizens of sovereign nations of Europe, now the corporatist fascist conglomerate called the EU, endure.

We are in the minority as usual, most would rather beat up on men and women who actually put themselves out for a vote.

Instead of protecting them from a hostile media who conduct billion dollar campaigns 24/7/365 under the cover of objectivity, for 40 years.

But I guess its easier to complain instead of actually planning, raising money, and working for the defeat of the MSM.
