If they've dumped the Exit polls, why haven't they pulled back NJ and Maryland, where the republican is still winning???

Ahead is not the same thing as "winning"...a Republican can be ahead as he's losing, if Republican-heavy precincts are not giving him enough of a cushion to make up for later-reporting Dem precincts.

FNC says they're looking at actual vote totals in representative precincts, so as to avoid using exit polls.
