Upwards of 70 reporters are packed into Santorum's rally. When Traynham pointed to AP polling errors in the past, it sparked an argument with AP staffers in attendance, the PG's Jerome Sherman reports. Think of how many billions we could have saved over the years if we had only allowed AP to pick our politicians instead of this messy and expensive voting thing. How can anyone be so crude to argue or even disagree with a semi-literate J-school grad working election night in a hotel ballroom in Pittsburgh.
Sigh. When will we ever become sophisticated like the Europeans? < / sarcasm >

Yep, I agree and I would add they failed us on immigration. We also have to realize the country is split down the middle. we can't hold everything forever. Damn depressing though because I believe there is good and evil in play here.

No surprise....Voter fraud in Philadelphia (Democrat area of Penn) last even year election 2004
In a close race a few extra 'RAT votes from Philly is the difference....

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX TUE NOV 02, 2004 09:06:35 ET XXXXX
UPDATE: VOTES 'FOUND ON MACHINES' IN PHILLY BEFORE POLLS OPEN
Before voting even began in Philadelphia -- Republican poll watchers believed they found nearly 2000 votes already planted on machines scattered in heavy-minority locations throughout the city.
Republican poll watchers claim:
One incident occurred at the SALVATION ARMY, 2601 N. 11th St., Philadelphia, Pa: Ward 37, division 8.
Pollwatchers uncovered 4 machines with planted votes; one with over 200 and one with nearly 500...
A second location, 1901 W. Girard Ave., Berean Institute, Philadelphia, Pa, had 300+ votes already on 2 machines at start of day.
ANOTHER INCIDENT: 292 votes on machine at start of day; WARD/DIVISION: 7/7: ADDRESS: 122 W. Erie Ave., Roberto Clemente School, Philadelphia, Pa..
ANOTHER: 456 votes on machine at start of day; WARD/DIVISION: 12/3; ADDRESS: 5657 Chew Ave., storefront, Philadelphia, Pa...
The Kerry Campaign says reports of votes already on machines are 'false.'
"Serious news will not appear first on the DRUDGE gossip website," senior Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart told reporters.
Officially, election officials explain the discrepancy is being caused by a number showing how many times various machines have been used.
But officials could not explain why used machines in other locations were reportedly 'clean.'
Elsewhere, a gun was purposely made visible to scare poll watchers at Ward 30, division 11, at 905 S. 20th St., Grand Court. Police were called and quickly surrounded the location...

Only 2% of the vote is in...a little early aren't you?
To: PghBaldy
I still think Santorum will pull it out.
Fox did call it for Casey though.

I thought Santorum lost? At this hour in 2000 and again in 2004, Bush had "lost" too.
Don't buy the exit polls. They are a pure crap shoot and if the media were concerned with accuracy, they wouldn't waste their money on them.
And can someone explain why it is so important to call a winner 2 minutes after voting ends? Could we wait 2 hours, or even 2 days for the votes to actually be counted? If exit pools are all that necessary, why even vote. Just sign in with the college kid with the clip board standing outside the precinct.

Just a couple more things worth pointing out.
CNN has called the race for Menendez and Kean is ahead with 51%
CNN has called 3 or 4 races with 0% reporting.

"But I think Santorum's "sodomy" statements and his Terri Shaivo antics really did him in. Far too controversial." I don't really think so. Those are more media driven issues and I don't think many people changed their minds because of those things. I think Santorum supporting Specter against Toomey alienated many pro-life conservatives, some of whom would vote for Casey. Casey had the name and the ability to steal some of Santorum's social conservative mojo. Combine those factors with Iraq, and there you have it.

Only 2% of the vote is in...a little early aren't you? No, you're a little late.
14% of the vote is in and Casey has nearly twice the votes Santorum has.
64% to 36%.
It's a blow-out.

Well, they failed us on leadership. Immigration? Close the borders, yes! But deport the people here? It simply is unworkable. The pubbies side stepped leadership on everything accept the War. And that is a tough position. I have qualms about the war, yes, I see the point for being there. But, and this is the gut wrenching truth, on an emotional level, I have a hard time seeing those nuts over there and supporting one American youth dying in order to be in their nutty presence. Order instilled there? It seems an obscure possibility. V's wife.

I wasn't going by the exit polls--listening to conservative radio, but I agree the media are trigger happy when it comes to calling these things.

Kicking out Santorum is just as bad a reelecting Ted F'n Kennedy.

Don't worry...if Casey wins, he'll be a one termer. He is an empty suit with nothing upstairs. He only survives because of his deceased DAddy

Those are more media driven issues and I don't think many people changed their minds because of those things. Well polls showed Santorum's positions were very unpopular, just like the polls showed him trailing the entire campaign, just like the polls now show he out of the Senate.
I don't think it's all a coincidence.

You're correct about radio talk and Rush, their era has reached a nadir and Limbaugh has caused more harm to the party than his gigantic ego will ever accept. Poor fellow.

I still think Santorum will pull it out. Fox did call it for Casey though. I'm thinking you are delusional. Santorum has lost. Its over. Stick a fork in him, he's done.
