It wasn't till they realized they were being left behind did they realize they should be Reagan fans
I seem to recall Reagan lost his bid to be President a few times before he finally won nomination. And that it was the Rockfeller's that insisted on Bush 41 as a running mate. Conservatives were the ones that supported Reagan. The so called "Extreme Right Wing" which, btw, I find it amazing that sort of talk is used on a conservative site.
The right supported Reagan in 1976 against moderate Ford and in 1980 against moderate Bush and liberal Anderson. You don't know what you are talking about.
