Why would impeachment be political suicide? The war is completely unpopular, the government is HUGE, and Bush governs like a RINO. He seems incapable of defending his positions on anything. Who would come to his defense when it would be so easy to just leave him hanging out to dry? The media will kill him.

The war is unpopular, but the reasons for going to war can be justified (a war I support, as a disclaimer). There's a difference between being unpopular and attempting to throw out a President for policy differences. Cooler heads will prevail.
The Media? The MSM has lost much of it's effectiveness over the past 20 years.

Because we spent years chewing on Bill Clinton's head when we should have been promoting conservatism. We turned off the "Reagan Democrats" who elected us by impeaching Bill Clinton instead of concentrating on what we said we would.
Democrats are welcome to take the same road, and I think their hatred for Bush is so deep that they will be unable to stifle it to govern effectively. They will turn off those same people.
