Cooler weather...my family decided they'd had enough of the Phoenix heat after two summers. They would rather deal with some winter cold in Denver than the summer heat out here. I like both areas, so we're going to move. But I'll still visit AZ in the winter to play some golf.

I can't believe we might lose the Senate. I really thought Talent was going to win if no one else was. I saw we promise Lieberman whatever he wants if he caucuses with Republicans.

Very bad news. Most of the rest of Yellowstone County is in (94%). Burns hasn't made up much ground - he now trails by 1,507. Extrapolations call for a Burns loss by 639.

Gallatin needs to conform more to 2000, or Burns is toast.

Bad news. Burns did not make the pick ups in Yellowstone he needed.

94% of Yellowstone has reported, he's still down 1507.

He's going to fall about 600 votes short unless that 6% left in Yellowstone is heavy Republican.

Are there any overseas ballots yet to be counted in MT? That could help.

There should be some overseas ballots. Other absentees should have been counted, in theory.

Something about this whole election stinks. I saw some comments that ACORN had registered millions of voters and a lot of them were voting straight D. This is the biggest problem with illegal immigration. I doubt those statistics about all those immigrants being criminals...I haven't seen that in the real world. But the big problem is they all register and vote Democrat. We're rapidly being outnumbered and we have to do something about it, without destabilizing Mexico and creating even bigger problems.

I doubt there would be enough oversee ballots to make up a 600 vote deficit that he's looking at.

Turnout seems to be running 80-90% lower than 2000 in Montana. 2000 was obviously also a Presidential election year.

I meant to say turnout seems to be 80-90% of 2000 levels.

Interesting....the S&P 500 ETF has rebounded in pre-market trading and is now down only 0.33%. This election shouldn't affect the stock market too much. The budget is set for a while and Bernanke is still running the Fed.

Whoops...sorry.

I was posting fast and furious there for a few minutes and must have gotten my signals crossed someplace.

That's okay though, you'll be warmer in the Alaskan winter. :-)

So if you really want to accuse someone of *bashing* maybe it would be more factual to go to the source.

The post I quoted from did not italicize or indicate that the words were from two sets of speakers; so I did try not go back further.

If people would clearly indicate where they are quoting someone else, it would be helpful to all concerned.

Cheers!

It's over. He didn't get the pickups in Gallatin. He's down 1556 with just Meagher and 6% of Yellowstone.

I am frankly shocked we have lost the Senate. It gives me heartburn.....I would be okay with even a tie-breaker majority with Cheney.

Once again, no doubt we have lost yet another chance to finally create a conservative Supreme Court, at least easily. Perhaps we can still do it with a minority conservative.

How disappointing.

Perhaps this election will give the kick in the seat the GOP needs to actually ACCOMPLISH something so we can take back control in 2008.

If I were GWB I'd keep nominating conservating judges, if they don't get confirmed, then just let the SOTUS sit at 8, or 7, or whatever, then in 2008 the judge issue will be huge.

It matters were you are in the country. But it should of been a national issue with the president and congress. If Republicans don't care about this issue then they have lost my vote and many others. If nothing stops this ridiculous immigration then the people will stop it by force.
