Because, the results have been pulled altogether from the SOS's website in Montana.

Something's up there, I guess. A miscount? I'm not sure. It's been a good while, now, though. We should be getting some news soon.

It's really people like you that had your head buried in the sand that caused this debacle. Your group convinced the GOP that everything was perfect and that they could do whatever they wanted and they would still get elected.

My group? You know, most of the REST of the GOP are sick and tired of you "real conservatives" telling us we're not conservative enough or don't agree on the right things.

And the rest of your statement is ridiculous; I almost got run off this forum last week for saying we were going to lose the House and the Senate, which turned out to be true.

You all love to believe we just march in lockstep -- so you don't even bother to read the posts from most of us.

Maybe that had some effect here and there in the north, but it had nothing to do with the south moving to the GOP. That was all due to a rejection of Clinton.

I don't think it was the only thing, but it certainly was a factor. To act like it didn't matter in the 1994 election is incorrect - that year was a perfect storm of various issues, from Clinton to corruption.

The base didn't win 2004. That's the point. It's a conbined effort. The base came out big in 04 and that made the difference but you could also say the middle came through as well. The base, in and of itself, couldn't win diddily. I'm always amazed when I hear so and so won it. That said the base was big and we needed it. We need a team effort to pull through and I suspect we will. This has been going on for a long time and will continue to do so and I for one appreciate the democracy we live in.

Fox reporting that Allen will NOT concede and Allen is saying that absentee ballots have NOT been counted. unknown if he means all or some absentee ballots.

For MT, Fox is reporting that tally machines in Yellowstone Co. failed and the ballots are being counted by hand. Right now, 82% is in, Tester ahead by 3600 votes.

Knox Co. still not in for TN. There's a 3600 vote spread in Corker's favor. Yeah, I know it's been called for Corker, but Davidson Co. wasn't in at that time and Corker took a beating there. The gap tightened way up with Davidson Co. (Nashville) in, even though he made it nicely through the Shelby Co. (Memphis) count. Go figure.

A fail to see why. It can be sold as the way home.

The way out of Iraq is through Damascus and Tehran.

Of course, the other way to settle Iraq is to take a step back and let the Shiites massacre the Sunnis.

It's this close because we have a strongly republican state whose voters decided they don't like Burns anymore. Look at what a Montana Republican Congressman got:

82% of precincts reporting

Rehberg Rep* 174537 59% Winner
Lindeen Dem 114540 39%
Fellows Lib 5776 2%

Amen!

They haven't yet lost the Senate.

The base, VOTED. WE VOTED. WE ARE THE BASE. All others who didn't vote, are NOT the base, no matter their claims.

Somehow I can't get it through my head that the base in a democracy is the same as a base in a 1 party state. I mean, the base needn't be limited to mindless automatons who vote for the party regardless.

The true base sticks with the party and votes against the party by not voting. I will not diminish the size of the base by eliminating those who stayed home out of principle and not laziness. To pro-actively refuse a vote for the party is a legitimate action for a member of the base.

The message seems loud and clear. Let's hope the leadership isn't deaf.

Fox reported that the tally machines failed, so they're counting them by hand.

I think a whole lot more than the base came out, though. I think this was a referendum on Iraq and I didn't see that coming. I thought since we won in 2004 and Lieberman was polling well, the Iraq issue was settled in our favor, but I think the relentless MSM negative pounding on it finally had an effect. People who otherwise wouldn't have bothered to vote in an off-year election went to express their displeasure with Reps over the war.

You nailed it.

I wonder why CNN have it marked as white rather than red on their electoral map? Weird.

Burns won Yellowstone in 2000, but only 51-47. He's running behind his 2000 totals statewide, so it could well be a wash...

Let's hope the leadership isn't deaf.

You all just voted them out of office; there is NO leadership.

And why should they listen to you now?

You all love to believe we just march in lockstep -- so you don't even bother to read the posts from most of us.

For the months leading up to the election your group has been marching in lockstep. I was told over and over that Iraq was going to save the day for Republicans.

If the GOP had handled the spending and illegal immigration issue better, the traditional republican voters would have been more understanding on Iraq.

Just like friends don't let friends drive drunk, friends shouldn't let their politicians govern themselves into political suicide.

Don't take this personally as you're a very solid freeper, but you and many others have a reflexive response to shoot the messenger.

As long as TN doesn't go haywire.

Also, Allen isn't conceding. he says there are absentee ballots to count. I don't know if he meant none of the absentees have been counted, or some have and some haven't.

51-47 in 2000 was between a 2,600 and 2,700 plurality. It's going to be interesting and very close.

Some other Pubbie areas are out as well.
