Nope, you're 100% wrong. But please, move the Party to the Left and see what happens. Can you say minority part for the next 40 years?

One thing the Hildebsast did do is outspend any other campaign in this election cycle...probably in the history of politics.

Oh the witch is running in 08...be prepared for the coming Battle.

Agreed, we can recover from this pretty quickly in 2 years if we nominate a viable presidential candidate. This isn't the end of the world at all since even if we lose the senate, it will be so close that the GOP will still wield a lot of power.

Bush will also be able to stop any crazy bills and neither the house or senate will be able to override a veto.

I believe Cheney will step down within the next six months and a new VP (Condi?) will be placed.

"A party whose leader has been a cheerleader for illegal immigrants for 6 years has a hard time persuading anyone that it really opposes illegal immigration"

My question, never been answered, is how can one take a WOT seriously when one component, the southern border, is not only ignored, but actually treated as if: "well, come on in and take what you want. The owners won't mind. In fact, here's their checkbook. Write out whatever amount you want."

Don't vanish Nov 8th. I have added you to my list of Grim Freepers. I will be pinging you to come by and explain this one.
ONE time why don't you Grim Freepers all stick around the day AFTER the elections to try and explain why your absurd doom and gloom pronouncements turned out to be so much nonsense.. Not a chance at all of the Dems picking up 25 seats. NO chance.

There are a number of Freepers who are compiling lists. They are heartily sick of this habit of the Chicken Little Freepers doing their best to spread Democrat Propaganda and hysteria about the coming Republican disaster every election cycle.

Some Freepers seem to think making wilding nonsensical claims and pronouncements of Doom and Gloom are a substitute for actually doing all the digging and research to actually know something about the issues. They want this bad Freeper habit to end before 2008. I agree with them.

"It is the moderates who are responsible for tonight's loss."

No, it is the loss of support by Independents, who are not Republicans, who are responsible for tonight's loss.

-

I hate to say it, but it's the loss of the ability to communicate a coherent vision, which is responsible.

Ronald Reagan would not have presided over this debacle.

Because even liberals, respected him. Because he stood firmly and without wavering for what was RIGHT.

Not what was "comprehensive".

Here is Tenn about 70% is in and Corker has a 50K lead and they WON'T CALL IT with the only counties not reporting heavily GOP counties (people are STILL in the lines at the polls).

We will be lucky to get a Harriet Miers confirmed to replace Stevens even if we hold the Senate.

If we continue to control the Senate, as is expected at this hour, we can get a decent conservative nominated and confirmed in the Senate. There are swath of conservative RAT Senators from the South that wouldn't dare vote against a strict constructionist. Politicians put their self-interest first.

If we do not control the Senate, all bets are off, because the RATS will not let a conservative nominee out of committee.

Tonight certainly reminds us all that declarations of victory over the dinosaur MSM have been premature. We can blame various Republican leaders or the uninformed "middle" of the electorate and there is some truth to each criticism we make, but the MSM/Demagogue alliance is still tight and strong and deadly. The MSM was worth 10-25 points to EVERY 'Rat candidate tonight.

Sure, we have enjoyed some victories in the blogosphere, talk radio, etc. but just remember that no matter how many lies and frauds are exposed, the MSM and Demagogues just keep coming back as though nothing has happened to them.

Yes, they have lost their former stranglehold on information, but they still enjoy a central and predominant role in the culture, and they must be smashed. Talk to anyone who's not a political junkie, who picks up just a few tidbits from headlines and news flashes.... THEY don't know how far left the Demagogic Party is from 75% of the country, THEY don't know that Dan Blather and his ilk have been thoroughly discredited over and over again, THEY don't know anything but what the MSM spoon-feeds them.

We pride ourselves, rightly, on being much better informed and insightful than the MSM and the Demagogues, but we still have a huge project of public education to get beyond situations like tonight.

Remember, Dan Blather resurfaced again in the past 48 hours, giving an interview in which he asserted yet again that his story and the TANG documents have never been discredited. These people are vampires, the living dead, and will not go away without a much bigger fight than we have waged to date.

We lost tonight to the media, pure and simple. The media has bashed Bush since he took office and the democrats used that to their advantage.

.......and yet we continue to watch them!!....tomorrow I guarantee that 90% of all of you will reward the local networks with your patronage!!
