Planes no longer falling from the sky.
It's a miracle. Truly a miracle that planes no longer fall and crash and burn from the sky on a montly basis.

Nice soft shoe, but you replied to a comment that pointed out the fact that there had been no attacks on our soil since 9/11/01 by saying that the same could have been said on 9/10.

You were demonstrably wrong, the first attack on the WTC made your statement wrong.

With 12% of the precincts in, Lampson is beating Gibbs according to Fox badly, too. :( Twelve percent is nothing though.

I just got back from my polling place in Sugarland (heavy Republican) after a 3 hour wait. Voted for Shelley Sekula Gibbs. Writing that name in on the electronic machine was a nightmare. And they only had 7 machines.

Barone's a sharp cookie. I think he may be right. This is could very likely be headed for a recount. I thought Allen had it in the bag about 15 minutes ago, but now that I see where the outstanding votes are it could really go either way.

If we end up with a firewall (GOP Senate) at the end of the night I will be okay.
If we replace two more Supes during the next two years I will be ecstatic.

Republicans are not losing seats tonight because REPUBLICANS turned on their own. They are losing because INDEPENDENTS are sick of the party.

So how does that jive with the need for us to be more conservative? Most of the Indes I know are really pretty liberal. Actually lean Dem most of the time.

Dodge? Lady, I don't know how you could read that post and say it was simply a dodge.

I did not participate in, advocate or encorage anyone who had decided to, to stay home to send a message. What is it you think I left out?

I am just saying that 92 was much worse.

Agreed, we can recover from this pretty quickly in 2 years if we nominate a viable presidential candidate. This isn't the end of the world at all since even if we lose the senate, it will be so close that the GOP will still wield a lot of power.

Bush will also be able to stop any crazy bills and neither the house or senate will be able to override a veto.

"This race was called along time ago. I think we need to concentrate on Virginia, Montana, and Missouri."

And not long after that Fox News said they were not going to rely on exit polls for the rest of the night; Michael Barone said the polls were garbage. They sure haven't reiterated over and over that Maryland is lost to Cardin. I think they really don't know and we could see a nailbiter here.

I would come to his defense as would millions of sane Americans. Here we are facing a socialist Speaker from San Franscisco and you wish to trash President Bush? Bush looks pretty great now compared to the dems that are winning tonight.

How about the Hammer's former seat? Anything on that?

Nick Lampson DEM 56.23%
Shelley Sekula Gibbs W-I 8,967 37.77%
Precincts Reported 13 of 176 Precincts 7.39%

That's according to the sec. of state of Texas. CNN's got it different:

Lampson 64%
Sekula Gibbs 30%
11% of precincts reporting
