Warning: What to Expect

All right, folks. Guess I have to do it again around here and hand out the chill pills.

1) It is absolutely clear to me that we have won this. We will keep the Senate, and I'm 90% sure we keep the House. We'll probably gain a seat, maybe two in the Senate.

2) I know this from the turnout numbers, just as I did in 2004. The fact is, forget Indies. They don't vote in high numbers. It's all about the two parties, and who gets out their base.

We have done that today beyond my wildest expectations. The info we have from the Hotline on turnout is overwhelming, and in virtually every key state, we have exceeded Dem turnout by 2, 3, 4, or 6%.

As I predicted, we are seeing a Dem UNDERVOTE. They are underperforming, esp. in key states such as OH. However, they are underperforming far worse than even I dreamed. We are looking at 20% in Cuyahoga County! Brown and Strickland couldn't get elected dog catcher with that level of support.

SO HERE IS WHAT TO EXPECT: THE MEDIA IDIOTS HAVE THEIR TEMPLATES. THEY WILL BE VERY SLOW TO COME AROUND. IT WILL BE A LONG NIGHT, BECAUSE THEY WON'T BELIEVE THEIR EYES.

They may even "call" a few House races, maybe a Senate race, based on some ridiculously low "exit poll" and have to recant later. Be patient. The turnout numbers suggest we absolutely cannot lose.

So your prediction wasn't as optimistic as it could have been, But Dems predicted blowouts in both houses...I don't see it.
And we will probably keep the Senate.

It could have been much worse, right?

And still some votes have to be counted before they officially get the house.

Im an amateur at this, but it sure seems the Rats didn't get the landslide they hoped for. We may be spoiled by 8 years of victory.

Perhaps, but I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan, and Jimmy Johnson always knew when to go for the jugular and put the other team away. We had them down after 2004. Not just the Dems, but the entire elitist, drive-by media.

Now, they have new confidence. They now think they can take out Bush, or at the very least, make the war go so badly that a R will get killed in 2008. And as Rush said, this will likely push us more toward McLame (not me, but you know). The quest for the "great moderate" who can get the "independent vote." So thanks for trying to buck me up, but it's a huge disaster.

The answer is that we were against the media. They were relentless and pulled out all the stops. And they won. Which sickens me. The media flexed their muscles and outdid us all.

Short term: Short the Market!

Intermediate term: The DBM will cease its relentless negativism now that they've ushered their pals into power. That'll be a welcome respite!

Longer term: Though I dread it, there will be another terrorist attack and my hunch is it will rivet America's resolve {many people now are deluding themselves that 9/11 was a one time deal}.

Well, rumors of the Conservative Republican demise are greatly exaggerated imo.
We wont ever give up.

I hope we hold the Senate at least, its close.

I don't think it is as black and white as that. I think the President is right that Americans want to win in Iraq. The problem is, we don't see the winning. What we see is a lot of hold ups of one sort or another. Everyone knows the Dems don't have a plan, but the current Republican plan keeps having to be rewritten. A lot of people are frustrated. I think this was, in part, a message to the Republican party to either shape up or be shipped out. Good, patriotic people don't want to hear "stay the course" anymore. They want someone to say, "OK, let's kick some butt", or say "forget it, you guys don't want to cooperate, so we are out of here."

At least that is my friends and my very limited view.
