An Election Day Wish (Joseph Farah Looks Forward To Destruction Of Democratic Party Alert)
Worldnetdaily.com ^ | 11/07/2006 | Joseph Farah

Do you need some motivation to get you to the polls today? I do.

And here's mine.

As you know, I've been extremely disappointed by the Republicans who have been in control of Congress and the presidency since 2001.

They waited far too long to act on border security. They increased spending beyond imagination. Far too often, they talked and acted like Democrats.

I've been a strong advocate of not voting for the lesser to two evils as a means of stimulating more competition in the political marketplace.

But I'd like to present the other side of that story today, as we consider the very real prospect of a Democratic victory in the midterm elections taking place as you read this.

There is another way to foster political competition. That is to destroy the Democratic Party – or to change it fundamentally from a socialist, anti-U.S., appeasement party to one that is more in tune with mainstream American values.

Suppose the Democrats took a real beating today at the polls?

It could happen.

John Kerry made that prospect possible, in my opinion, the other day when he insulted our troops in Iraq. It was a gaffe of monumental proportions by a politician who is known for putting his foot in his mouth.

Let me remind you that John Kerry is not just a senator from Massachusetts. As the most recent nominee for the party's presidential candidate, he is also the head of the Democratic Party.

We could stay home and punish the Republicans. Or, we could go vote to really punish the Democrats – not just punish them, but destroy them as a viable party.

Let's face it – just a few days ago, Rep. Nancy Pelosi was measuring the drapes in the speaker's office. The Democrats have tasted victory already – prematurely. What would happen if we denied it?

I think it would be a political earthquake.

I think the Democrats would have to re-evaluate everything.

I think they would have to look seriously at their message, at their candidates, at their philosophy, at the way they have turned their party into a bastion of extremists.

If ever there was an opportunity to deal the Democratic Party a deathblow from which they might not be able to recover, this could be it.

Their expectations were so high.

Even a status quo vote would be shocking to the Democrats.

Oh, sure, they would no doubt play the vote-fraud card. That will happen in all likelihood even if they win by a small margin.

But I, for one, would love to see what would happen – just as a sociological and political experiment – if the Democrats got trounced today.

I know this may sound like a different message than I have given you before. The truth is – it is.

But today, as our brave troops continue the fight in Iraq and Afghanistan, I can't help but think of the disaster that awaits them, us, the Iraqi people and all freedom-loving people around the world if the Democrats take the House and Senate.

They've told us what they're going to do. They're going to cut and run, raise the white flag of surrender to the terrorists, sue for peace, appease the enemy. That's what they do. They did it in Vietnam and it took us 20 years to recover. We may never recover from another blow like that.

So that's what's going through my mind today in these final moments of the campaign. No, I'm not telling you to vote for just any old Republican, but I am suggesting strongly you vote against every single Democrat.

Voted this morning. I proudly voted to re-elect my Republican Representaitve. I did vote against my Republican Senator - as I promised him I would do - because of his support for the McCain-Kennedy shamensty. That said, he will be re-elected with a high 60% of the vote.

On a smaller scale, in my town of Plano Tx. they told my sons Kindergarten class during drug free week "If your parents offer you a drink of Coke don't take it"> I also had to explain why Grandpa isn't a drug user because he smokes.

Enough already....

The repetition is for those that have not seen the message and may rile them to go vote. Not for us that have seen it already. Peach is trying to do her part. Let her go.

That is an amazing graphic! Not only proves there really is a Rove Weather Machine (RWM), but Rove is so skilled, he even added a bit of a 'fuzzy edge' to the weather pattern to make it look more 'natural'. That is pure genius! RYMB!!

John Kerry made that prospect possible... I think the Democrats would have to re-evaluate everything.

Here lies the rub.

I've said it repeatedly, but for those who haven't been on those threads, let me say it again. The Democrat party is doomed. They're dead, but they don't know it yet. For too long, they've pandered to a hodgepodge collection of special interests, and to turn away from any one of them is to embrace disaster at the polls.

But these special interests have very little in common. There is no cohesiveness, no "center", to the party any more. The few things on which most of the special interest groups can agree on are positions that are unpopular with the public as a whole, and so the Democrats have no choice but to keep quiet about the bulk of their common platform.

So, like a diseased tree, they're rotten to the core. They're dying from the inside out, while still maintaining the appearance of health, and perhaps even a little growth. But sooner or later, it is all going to come crashing down, especially as the "moonbat" wing controls more of the money and politicians.

The only question is when. I think that, all else being equal, it will take about a decade or so for the damage to be so severe that it not only can't be undone, but can't be denied either. However, losses today (and in this context, a loss means gaining neither house -- gains smaller than that would hasten the process) and in 2008 could provide enough outside pressure to topple the "tree" from the outside.

But back to the quoted lines above. The Democrats have been seeing these signs for years, but always have an excuse for their losses other than seriously looking inward for root causes. In 2000, it was the Supreme Court (never mind that it was the Gore team that got courts involved in the first place, nor that the USSC's decision was 7-2 in Bush v. Gore). In 2002, they blamed their losses on the GOP working the wartime "patriot" card. In 2004, it was Diebold that "stole" the election. So what excuse for today, when they likely make only minimal gains in both houses? John Kerry, of course.

It's a situation that's politically good for Republicans, but no so much for conservatives. As long as the Democrats refuse to address their underlying issues (if they even can, at this point), the moderate, "old school" Democrats are going to become increasingly alienated and either stop voting, or switch to the GOP. However, this makes the GOP a "moderate" party, not a "conservative" one.

As a conservative, I'm resigned to that in the short term, however. I think the current manifestation of the Democrats is too dangerous to allow them to ever regain power. The first order of business must be to destroy the Democrats until they are nothing more than a fringe, left-wing kook party. Then, the split can occur within the GOP, restoring a more natural balance of a center/center-left vs. center-right/right two-party system.

Not sure I can get across what I mean, but...

If conservatives will turnout in big numbers instead of sitting on their hands to 'make a point', I believe that there could be two parties who realize they must change. I don't believe that the Dems will, but given the atmosphere, if we elect Republicans and clearly make it understood that we voted against Democrats rather than for Republicans, and furthermore, that they are in a very precarious position as regards 2008, then I believe we can wield a lot of power to get the really important issues done: conservative justices, border security, war on terror etc.

Get out and vote, and while you're at it contact someone you know who is thinking of 'sitting it out' or is depressed by the polls and take them with you! Make a 'night out' of it, a couple of beers, dinner. The more up we are the better the turn-out.

Agreed. I think the national mood is akin to, "We don't like what the GOP hasn't done but they're still our SOBs. The Democrats are far far far worse - unacceptable."

Excellent analysis. The only thing left out of it is the Democrats' willingness and ability to steal elections. Were it not for that, I believe they would be 'dead' already.

It is a beautiful day here in Northern Virginia. The polls are open, I have voted. I arrived at 6:04 AM and was about #30 at my polling place. It is going to be cold and rainy and the Socialists will just stay home!

Well how many votes did he cost us in his previous incarnations? He claims the Kerry statement changed his mind... How lame is that??? Where's the man's base principles??? With such serious consequences how on earth could Kerry be the deciding factor?

Was it not only about a week ago that Farah was saying it would be good if the GOP lost? That Bush on down was a total failure and they deserved to lose?

Apparently he's seen the light. I welcome it. Maybe he'll get through at the very last minute to some conservatives who had decided not to vote at all. :-)

I think the only way we're going to see not only the Democrats but the GOP take a right turn is if the electorate clearly shows them that we WANT them to be more conservative.

If we allow the democrats, who are not left of center any longer, but leftist extremists, to win, we are showing all politicians that the American people WANT leftist leaders.

We must solidly reject the democrats and all they stand for at the polls if we want to turn this country to the right.
