US Forces captured a 'known Al Qaeda terrorist' along with five other men, including Saudi and Pakistani nationals, according to a statement released by the Coalition today. The identities of those seized in the Khost City raid have been withheld pending the sensitive nature of the operation
The raid took place at a compound in Khost City. The statement indicated no shots were fired and no one was injured during the operation. Several women and children were present in the compound and a cache of military supplies was uncovered.
The stash included armor piercing ammunition, grenades, AK-47 assault rifles and camera equipment that contained surveillance footage of nearby military installations.
Al Qaeda and Taliban fighters are known to operate and live throughout Khost province which borders Pakistan. Fighters from neighboring Pakistan are also known to easily pass through the border area into Afghanistan on a daily basis due to the rugged terrain and well established smuggling routes.
Counter-terrorism operations launched by US forces targeting al Qaeda compounds in Nangahar and Khost provinces has been stepped up since August, netting and killing dozens of suspected al Qaeda militants.
--For the good of the nation, that news would be withheld until after the election so that the news wouldn't be bad-mouthed by the TV talking heads as some stunt pre-planned to influence the elections.--
Who cares? The TV talking ($#!t)heads will say that this RUMOR is in itself an election ploy.
Why, still, do we not realize, there is no way to avoid the savagery of the left and it's media. If it's not one thing, it will be another. Obviously, this is not OBL, but if it were, withholding the info to avoid criticism would be foolhardy.
Voters deserve to make the most informed votes possible, to hold the announcement would be cynical manipulation in fact and deed.

Btw, I went down to local Repub Hq here in Fla today for a stint. 56 calls reached 24 people, all of whom confirmed they were voting straight republican ticket tomorrow.

The video is of an interrogatory format, on-screen questions interspersed throughout Abu Nasser’s narrative. He discusses his escape from prison and his anger at being asked to “lay low,” while crimes were being committed against Muslims in prisons all over the world, including Guantanamo, in Pakistan, Jordan, Egypt, and Yemen, and Muslims were being disgraced elsewhere. Seated in front of a world map in the beginning of his interview, up until the point where he explains that he is in Khost in Afghanistan, he states that he was organizing an operation with the Taliban and giving praise to Allah for “letting them meet their brothers in al-Qaeda so that they can work together to beat the American invaders,” Abu Nasser is seated in a room in front of a world map".
He was calling people in Saudi Arabia...they nabbed 23 people he called....dumb.

I do. I'm not used to their forum so maybe I missed it, but I looked in the sidebar under breaking news and didn't see anything posted yet about this story.
I just don't know if it would or could be held. If OBL WERE captured, it should be released ASAP confirmation is made. If, God willing, that's tonight or 4am tomorrow, I think W would release it. Dear God, please bring us a miracle,
If it is OBL, the way to announce it is to have Tony Snow say at a press conference that we caught an extremely important, very high up al-Qaeda guy, about as high as you can get, that we have been wanting to catch for years, but that we are not going to announce his identity until after the election just to avoid trying to influence the election. (Wink, wink.) Have a half-dozen generals standing near him with big smiles on their faces.
OBL needs to be beheaded and that needs to be all the news on election day. Unfortunately the news of this terrorist won't really be shared until after the election.
However, if it was a top-level commander, as suggested, the terror forums would be allah-akbarring his butt by now.

If it was Abu Nasser al-Qahtani, he was most likely given up by his own people.
