Use Your Free Cell Phone Long Distance to Call Republican Voters to GOTV! Here's How...

Here is an e-mail I received over the weekend from Ken Mehlman head of the RNC. Please sign up to call 30 Republican voters, even if you can't do all 30. It's easy and most of all with many polls now showing momentum shifting towards the GOP, this will help build on that momentum and make a difference! See my comments below for more on how do to this.

Dear Michael ,

It all comes down to this - one final weekend, millions of voter contacts, and you.

With four days to go, a handful of House and Senate races will determine control of Congress. No matter where you are, you can put us over the top in this fight. How? Just pick up the phone, log on, and use your free minutes to contact 30 Republican voters in battleground states this weekend.

All it takes is 30 minutes to mobilize 30 fellow Republicans to vote - a minute per call. This is the final, most important action of the campaign. Will you join us this weekend?

This election is a choice. Will we send strong leaders to Washington committed to cutting taxes, standing up for our conservative values, and protecting us here at home by fighting the terrorists abroad?

Or will we allow liberals like Nancy Pelosi, Jack Murtha, Charlie Rangel and Ted Kennedy to impose their vision of higher taxes and an America on the retreat in the War on Terror?

The outcome in a few key races could have far-reaching consequences for the future of our country. Please make sure you get involved. Just 30 minutes of your time in the final make-or-break weekend could be what makes the difference:

Now is the time to step forward and ensure that your voice is heard. Whether you're helping from your local headquarters or from home, be a part of the biggest midterm get-out-the-vote operation in history.

Thank you once again for your time and dedication,

Ken Mehlman RNC Chairman

P.S. Turning out the vote starts with you and your neighbors. If you haven't voted early, please make sure to get out and vote Tuesday at your local polling place, and ensure that your friends and neighbors do the same. For a map and directions to your local polling place, please visit www.GOP.com/Vote or Secretary of State Website Thank you.

If you want to help ensure GOP victory, go to http://www.rnc.org or to http://www.GOP.com/Call and sign up to call Republican voters in states with important races using your free cell phone long distance to help get out the vote.

Don't be shy, most of the Republican voters you'll speak to are glad to hear from you and appreciate the work you're doing. I've been doing this for over a week and its fun! You just fill out a short form at www.rnc.com and then pick a login and password and then you'll be e-mailed a confirmation. You can then log in. Look for the link that says "Contact 30 Voters." You'll be given a script and names and numbers of Republican voters to remind to get out to vote. The best time to call will be between 6PM and 9PM tonight in whatever time zone you're calling in so you're sure to get people at home. If that's not possible, call any way and leave messages on answering machines encouraging them to vote.

Getting out the vote is the key to winning this election and we can all have a part in that no matter where we live. People are mostly friendly, it's easy, and you only do about 30 numbers. That will take you 45 minutes or less and make a big difference. PLEASE do this! I did it in 2002 and 2004 and the millions of calls we volunteers made were said by pundits to have made all the difference in those elections for the GOP pulling out a win.

So go to work and win! Thanks.

I made 40+ calls this weekend...

And YES... most of the people I called were glad to hear from me (I think they were VERY tired of the robo-calls that they've been getting though)...

In fact, I think the GOP base is more fired up now than it was in 2004!

The tide is turning, and the more people that call, the better we'll end up!

Good job! Can I ask what state you were calling? All the numbers I'm getting are in Montana which is fine. I'm just wondering if they assign these by region you're calling from and since I'm in California I was assigned a race in the West.

I don't want to be a wet blanket here, but dont some people you call resent your call?

The best time to call will be between 6PM and 9PM tonight in whatever time zone you're calling in so you're sure to get people at home.

Grumble...grumble....I come home from a hard days work, and the phone rings off the hook just when I'm ready to sit down and enjoy my dinner and watch my favorite tv program!

If they do, no one has ever told me they resent it. I think since these are Republican voters and many Republicans appreciate what's at stake in this election they're appreciative of your efforts.
