I have witnessed over the past 2 weeks the early voting of several areas here in tennessee and I have to believe that turnout will be almost as high as 2004. This, to me, bodes well for Corker at least and if I may, I would offer for your consideration that polls are going to be shown to be way off the mark this year. I have not met many depressed republicans nor have i met many energized democrats. My prediction is that the mainstream media has badly miscalculated this year's potential for democrats.
You saved up your posting mojo for over 2 years, and this is what we get?
DISSAPOINTED!
Of course we are going to win. The Dem are fleeing

Hear! Hear! That's the spirit!................
My prediction is that the mainstream media has badly miscalculated this year's potential for democrats.OK. Thank you for that. Who are you again? And could you tell us more about your polling methodology?
I do this every two years, and have successfully chased DEM Chicago machine operatives out of the northern Cook County area when I caught them red-handed, handing out campaign literature to shuttle buses of old people being dropped off at the polls from their assisted living residences.
JUST DO IT PEOPLE!
Lets just be positive. Who cares if there is no empirical evidence. Be positive, and vote.
Libra posts once a year, now that is control.

And if you are a Dem voter, that is when you vote.
Twenty posts in five years, the servers canna' stand it!
I believe you are right. I never ever got the sense that the Democrat message (what is it anyway?) had swayed anyone. Also there is the very simple question of why would someone change their vote to Democrat? The economy is good, casualties are low in Iraq, Saddam was convicted and gas prices are low. I don't want to be overly rosy but something just doesn't make sense. Midterms are midterms but the electorate is probably the most polarized it has ever been. The only places I'm seeing a tough row for the GOP is PA and OH which isn't anything new but even with that it appears that Murtha is fighting for his political life in a supposedly safe seat.
I still believe that Santorum's biggest problem is that he still hasn't closed the deal with the conservatives that felt betrayed when Pat Toomey ran against Specter. This is in spite of Toomey endorsing Santorum for re-election earlier. There is a clear chunk of conservatives that are missing from his numbers and that is unfortunate. Hopefully they will come home tomorrow. I hope they realize the harm they are doing.
I've heard that it won't matter if the Democrats take control but it most certainly will. How can the people vote to empower a party that not only knee jerks against and disparages our military and activity works to make sure we fail in Iraq but also holds the very principles that this country was founded on in poor regard. If people choose this route in the middle of this war just because they are tired of hearing about Iraq then they deserve the higher taxes, liberal policies, and liberal judges that will result.

The media hasnt "mis-interpreted" the polls...
This is part of a systematic effort to discourage Republicans from turning out...
Why vote if you know the other guy is gonna win...CNN says the Dims are gonna win, so I guess all the Republicans should just stay home, right??
They did this with the exit polls in '04, they did it calling Florida to Gore 1 minute after the polls closed in 2000...
This is their strategy to try to discourage Republicans...we need to go out in record numbers. And if the polls turn out as wrong as they were in '04, I hope we all will recognize the media has a serious problem with the truth...
This has nothing to do with miscalculation. This is an overt psychological warfare campaign against the American people. Another 24 hours or so and we shall see if the campaign is successful.
I in fact do have a crystal ball, and on this one obscure thread I'll tell you all how the election is going to turn out. Remember that you saw it here first:
Republicans hold the House by 8 seats.
Republicans hold the Senate with 54 seats.
