"If you live your life and don't confess your sins to God almighty through the authority of Christ and his blood, I'm going to say this very plainly, you're going straight to hell with a nonstop ticket," Mr. Hagee said during a service interspersed with religious and patriotic videos.
Asked afterward at a political rally whether he agreed with Mr. Hagee, the governor said he didn't hear anything that he would take exception to.
He (Perry) said that he believes in the inerrancy of the Bible and that those who don't accept Jesus as their savior will go to hell.
A little later at another stop, the Republican incumbent clarified his beliefs.
"I don't know that there's any human being that has the ability to interpret what God and his final decision-making is going to be," Mr. Perry said. "That's what the faith says. I understand, and my caveat there is that an all-knowing God certainly transcends my personal ability to make that judgment black and white."
He added: "Before we get into Buddha and all the others, I get a little confused there. But the fact is that we live in a pluralistic world but our faith is real personal. And my Christian faith teaches that the way is through Jesus Christ."

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
It might be insensitive to other religions and atheists. but according to the Bible itself Gov Perry is right as is Rev Hagee. Jesus is the only path to Heaven and everlasting life.
Perry backtracked a little bit later: ""I don't know that there's any human being that has the ability to interpret what God and his final decision-making is going to be,"
I would disagree there, in this case we do...rejection of the Son is rejection of The Father. But Im proud of our Gov for taking this stand and will relish his vitory. Read the full article for his opponents PC views on the subject.

Go Perry!
Wish we had more ministers that passionately preached a conviction.
"Rick Perry is dangerous! Rick Perry is intolerant! Rick Perry is narrow minded! Rick Perry is insane because he talks to God and God talks back to him!!"
/Demmie anti-Christian rants OFF
I just voted for the Governor, and I will keep him in my prayers.
"Jesus is the only path to Heaven and everlasting life."
Poor suckers who lived before Jesus... my my!
If one doesn't believe in Jesus, wouldn't it be safe to say they probably don't believe in "Hell" either?
Clearly you need to get educated on how God dealt with the righteous (but flawed by sin) prior to the birth of Christ.
Not to worry my FRiend, God has it all under control.
I agree.
"By FAITH"...those who came before Jesus lived as a human *were* saved as well. Says so in Hebrews Chapter 11 (that's in the Bible).
Poor suckers who lived before Jesus... my my!
God transcends time.
DOCTOR John Hagee.
The sticking point of Christian faith is what theologians call "the scandal of the particular". That is , that there is only one way to God.
Jesus made the same claim - "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father but by me."
I don't think my belief system is at odds with this. I believe that human beings have an eternal soul. I've also come to believe that there are many paths to many "Gods".
If you want to wind up with what Budda had to offer ... walk that path. If you want what the pantheism of the Hindu belief system offers... go right ahead. If you want to march to your own drummer, following as best you can your concept God, knock yourself out.
The "scandal of the particular" though, means that if I want to have relationship with the Being that Jesus referred to as "Father", I have to acknowledge my brokenness and need for forgiveness and entrust Jesus with my life.
The only way to that God and what He offers is through faith in Jesus. The claim of the God that Jesus called "Father" is that He offers eternal life in relationship with Him. The second person of this triune God demonstrated the validity of this offer by laying aside His own deity and becoming a man, offering himself as the sacrifice for my sin and then, as the firstborn from the dead, being raised by the Father to the same eternal life He offers to all. As an added bonus, because I'm forgiven, I can and do have an ongoing, cognitive, emotional relationship with this God right now.
So, at the end of this 70 or 80 year part of the life of your eternal soul, if you've followed the path of a God other than the one Jesus called Father, you may or may not get what your God offered, I can't vouch for their ability to deliver. You won't, however, get what the God that Jesus called Father has offered, in fact, since you wanted something else, you'll be separated from that God forever. What ever the result, What ever the result, look into the mirror for the one responsible for it.
LOL.... uh NO...
Any politician who gets asked what his personal religious views are should tell the reporter it's none of his damn business and he can go to .....
Covered believers before Christ died. The sacrifice of animals from Adam to Christ's death was a pledge until Christ final and once for all payment for sins to all who believe. God is the Creator of time and He is not subject to it.
Praise God, this is Wonderful News to Read! God Bless Gov. Perry Always!
By this logic the door swings both ways...
... you will simply go to some other religion's hell.
If you're wondering about the eternal fate of those who lived and died before the Redeeming actions of the Life, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ why don't you just ask?
Newspapers and the media will continue not to understand the religious voter and especially the Southern Religious voter. I never think of Texas as a sSouthern State(besides Est Texas) but in the end we elect people all the time whose religious views we disagree with. Its important that they believe in something seems to be the crietera.
Heck, As A Catholic I think all the Baptist and Pentecostals I vote for are all worng. I know that when the Baptist and Pentecostals vote for Catholics or other people of different faiths they are thinking te same thing lol. In the end it doesnt matter. I don't think the media never has understood the social contract down here where one doesnt make a person's religion a big deal. If that was the case then Politics would be impossible down here and civility would go out the window.
That is one reason BTW I think any attacks on Romney's Mormon faith will backfire big time. I think most SOutherners would consider rude. That is one reason why I think it will be a nonfactor. However expect that to be the next non stop story of the MSM.
