MAD TV (conservative lean?)

Posted on 11/04/2006 8:51:19 PM PST by mabelkitty

Anybody watching this? A skit showing that Michael J. Fox as Michael P. Keaton wants stem cells from aborted babies to make Back to the Future 4, Condi as a modern day Super Hero, and John F'n Kerry getting the treatment for his "uneducated troops" line.....just curious

I don't know about political leanings, but I find Mad TV to be teh funnay. Equal opportunity offenders and all that. And hey; we can laugh at ourselves, libs can't.

I recall a couple weeks ago they did a video-skit as the Dixie Chicks, singing "We can't help it if the little one has a big mouth." I think they even burquas on at one point in the faux-video.

Trey Stone once opined that Michael Moore will NEVER be able to tell a funny joke about George W. Bush, because it's too obvious. His theory is, go for the joke that's funny, and leave the audience wondering which ones reflect your personal political views.

Yep. And I also remember their dozens of tears into Bill Clinton. One episode, he got the Liar Liar thing, and admitted that "Oh, hell, who am I kidding... the Chinese have financed every Democratic presidential candidate since Woodrow Wilson."

We need to get these skits on YouTube, as counters to all the Daily Show tripe.

I think that's what it is. I feel they go after both sides equally. People should lighten up. I don't think the left made any friends at MADTV when they became "outraged" over my favorite character, Ms. Swan.

MadTV is 100x better than SNL, which I watched for the first time last week only because the wonderful Hugh Laurie was on. Every sketch without him was atrocious. SNL is bereft of humor these days. MadTV takes far more risks and usually it pays off.
